This workhorse of a pack is easy to carry and is ideal for overnight trips when I don’t want to leave stuff behind. The oversized hipbelt pockets keep my large smartphone at the ready if I want to snap a quick picture and the SideWinder pocket keeps my 32 oz Nalgene water bottle handy that I can grab it while moving yet stays out of the way. It carried all my stuff. Invested since then (2020) several \npricey,\n\"UL\" packs from different vendors, yet, I keep coming back to the Deva. It seems to fit me the best as I am short waisted. I have taken this pack literally all over the world. \nI used it many times in dreadful conditions. The pack pockets are small and the zippered one freezes; I \ndon't use the pockets anyway, opting for a fanny pack. Ive tried many others, but this product really fits well, and has held up. I am careful with my stuff but eventually, the fibers give up. I have not experienced any failures in the fibers or disasters of any sort. I do, however, take the pack ON the plane with me, so it's not thrown around by Baggage Loaders; I am really partial.o it.\nIt holds inside my poles and water bladder. Invested in a magnet for the chest and some other auxiliary items which were well worth the additional expense.\nI can carry my tent, sleeping bag; clothes, cookware; filtration stuff and other necessities easily. It's can get heavy easy I also noticed the zippers kinda suck I literally bought this bag because it has a lifetime warranty to come find out they won't even replace my bag under the warranty. It fits beautifully. I've had it & backpacked w it for a few years now. However, weighing in @ 4.6# without anything inside yet, it is just too heavy for my small body. I've been gradually lightening my gear & replacing my pack with a lighter pack was the last step. This pack is still very comfortable to wear, no pressure points, cushy hip belt & shoulder straps. The new version does *not* include the daypack and rain cover, but that was not a deal breaker considering the 2 major improvements. It's easy enough to purchase a rain cover, and the old daypack was not comfortable if you had to carry a full load of water on a dry trail. For day hikes while on a backpacking trip I just use the DEVA and cinch down all the straps. It's a super easy and comfortable carry bringing anything and everything you could possibly want during a day trip. I've used the new DEVA 60 on 4 multiday backpacking trips, and it's worked out great. I enjoy all the organizational pockets, which I use exactly the same every time, so I always know where everything is located. I keep my first aid kit and hygiene kit in the brain for easy access. I keep my down puffy and hard shell in each of the outer long vertical pockets. I just roll them up tightly like a big sausage, and they fit perfectly and are really accessible. I keep the hard shell on the right; \"R\" for rain jacket helps me always remember which later is in which pocket. My friend got the exact same backpack and after a trip we both agreed it was an excellent pack and super comfortable due to the suspension system and all the adjustability. Neither one of us had any soreness, hot spots, or aches, and our backs felt great! My base weight is 11 to 12 lb, so with food and full water it's anywhere from 22-30 lbs. Since the pack is designed for a maximum of 50 lbs. the carry is super easy. I actually compared a full loadout to two other top rated ultralight packs, and since a full load is pushing maximum on those packs, they were quite uncomfortable in comparison to the DEVA 60. Kilimanjaro and I used it for a whole month while in Africa. I fell in love with the color. This is an excellent pack for all adventures, but I was able to enjoy it on an 8 days trip in Tanzania and summited Kilimanjaro with success.
