Tackle the trails in pants that move with you. The KUHL HÖRIZN Convertible hiking pants are constructed of REFLEX SOFTSHELL fabric, a soft ripstop fabric with stretch. Quick dry and breathable, REFLEX SOFTSHELL retains its shape, and the high twist yarn displays visible depth. UPF 50 provides sun protection.
So happy with the fit, except the waist is still a little big. These are the best convertible hiking pant I’ve ever owned. I’m also very Impressed with the speed I received the pants, especially during covid. Thank you!!
Pants fit true to size. Generally women-specific pants will be tight on the thighs if they fit on the waist for athletic women - these aren't, they fit perfectly BUT, the side pocket, which in earlier models was the perfect size for a phone, is too short for current iPhone models, which is a serious design flaw and for me, at least, drastically diminishes their utility.
These pants are perfect for hiking where you may need to take off layers of clothing with rising temperatures or vise versa. They are easy to convert to shorts and back to pants. I normally wear extra-small and the size 0 was still a bit too big, but they will do the job.
These are great, stylish pants, sturdy yet attractive
I’m a big fan of Kuhl clothing. I’m a pod dresser so I wear one style of pant and Kuhl has the best. A major sticking point with me is having a pocket which holds my phone and these pants are perfect. I have a larger phone. These pants look nice, the pockets are really mostly for appearance or a credit card, not for holding many items. The fabric is very nice and resistant to rose thorns and other fauna. I would say that due to the fit of these pants compared with other Kuhl pants I’ve owned, you should order a size up. These fit pretty tight, it’s why they look so nice. Thanks to Kuhl for designing great clothing which lasts for years. Please continue making durable wear.
Different fabric, less sturdy than a couple of years ago
I had purchased these pants a couple of years ago and then recently bought another pair. I was surprised to see that the fabric is completely different. It is thinner and has more stretch. It appears to be sturdy and fits about the same, but I question how they will hold up over time.
I prefer the quality of the fabric that was used a couple of years ago. It had less stretch (but it had some), was thicker and the fit was smoother.
Time will tell how this new version holds up.
The big plus for me is I can order a 34" length! I have long legs and finding a longer inseam is challenging. I am thrilled that Kuhl offers longer length pants, but for those looking for "true tall," they are not a "true tall size." If they were "true tall size" the rise would be a bit longer to go along with the longer inseam, but I can make it work.
New pants for backpacking and travel. They are comfortable (love, love the drawstring at the waist!) I bought size 8 Short and I am 5'4"; they are a bit long still but can cinch the bottom. 2 thoughts: I cannot pull the legs off over hiking boots, which I like to do while backpacking. And the cargo pockets are just a little too short to fit in my Android phone and zip them up.Thanks for great products, Kuhl Rocks!
I’ve only worn them 2-3 times, only washed them once, & I’m noticing numerous places where the thread is completely gone, from the hem. I sure hope they will exchange, or repair them. This is the FIRST time I’m unhappy with Kuhl. ☹️
I travel a lot, and so I’m always looking for clothing that’s versatile so I don’t have to pack too much, whether it’s cool or warm weather, rainy or dry, or for hiking or exploring a city. These pants fit the bill! They’re very comfy, but they fit well and look nice enough for casual wear. For hiking and being outdoors, they are water repellent, cinch at the ankle to keep bugs out, have good pockets with sturdy zippers, and zip off into shorts when it gets hot. According to size chart, I should’ve been a size 4, but size 2 fits perfectly. You can wear them fitted because they have plenty of stretch. I ordered another color so I’ll have two pair for my next trip - I love these!
My favorite style of KUHL pants thus far. I also have the Splash and Cabo pants. The horizon fit is the best of the three if you are looking for a slimmer fit than the two mentioned above. I really like the durable fabric too.
Lightweight, good waist fit with room to move in legs. however phones do not quite fit in any of the pockets, i will be modifying leg pocket to accommodate full length for iphone, us Passport does fit however seal in something as these are not waterproof. Used for 331 mile walk in Uk and Spain recently...held up well, dried fast each night. Pant opening works for boot or hiking shoe.
these pants are the best hiking pants I have ever had. They fit perfectly, are very very comfortable, and are ideal for harsh outdoor conditions where you are getting wet, banged and scraped, or dealing with brush or mosquitoes
These convertibles fit me as if they were tailored for me. They move well when I stride, squat or kneel. The material is quiet and flexible, and the pockets are well thought out. Normally hiking pants don't make my butt look good and I wasn't thinking about my butt when I ordered. But, Shazam, my butt looks good in these pants. I think I'll seek the same pant in a none-convertible 'cause they fit so well. I ordered the Size 2, 32" inseam and could have been OK with the 30" but my hiking boots are fine with the slightly extra length. I am 64" tall, 120 pounds, small hips and long-waisted. Thanks, Kuhl!!
