They are warm, comfortable, very stylish and just the right rise. Not too high waisted but not too low either. I have two pair of the black and I want to order the blue. Also size up if you want to put a base layer underneath for colder days. Really stylish on my 5\" frame and doesn't have the \"bulk\" that the traditional insulated pants have. I am an 8 short and sometimes size up to allow more room for layers but then I look like I'm wearing my big sister's hand me downs, so this soft shell option is stellar. Would love a little more elastic options in the waistband to adjust as I drop off my summer weight. Otherwise these are keepers and wish there were more colors in the short styles. In love with the blue ones :) but had to order black.
