Keeps your food and drink provisions colder for longer
We love the Yeti Flip 18 Cooler which replaced our 20-yr old soft-sided cooler that was on its last stitch. The Yeti has an awesome design and a very robust zipper. I also purchased three 2-lb blocks of Yeti ice (2 fit perfectly side-by-side in the bottom and we place the third one on top of the contents.
We foresee this cooler out-performing and out-lasting our old cooler, while keeping our perishables much colder as we travel between the Bay Area and Sierra Mountains in California.
this product is just the right size to carry while walking around tailgating and is a great conversation piece based on how cool it looks. The down side is that it does not keep ice cold for long periods of time like other yeti products I have seen which is disappointing. I have other coolers that are a lot cheaper and 20 years older and holds ice just as long. I will not be recommending the product.
I’ve had a Roadie 20 for about 3 years now and it has been a great product, but heavy as all get out when you’ve got it loaded down with beer and ice. Also the Roadie’s carry handle makes it somewhat awkward to carry. I picked up my Flip 18 and have been extremely pleased. Fits a 15 pack of Keystone and a 750ml bottle of whisky with plenty of ice! Feels like it weighs 1/3 of what my Roadie did and with the shoulder strap I don’t have to waddle awkwardly when I have to carry it. Very glad I upgraded!
Got this as a Christmas gift. First time to use it filled it with ice & drinks & before we had driven 2 hours ice was completely melted We had to constantly fill with ice. Very disappointed with this yeti product. I have several cups/mugs & a large cooler. No problem from any of these products Yeti Hopper 18. Not up to Yeti standard at all
I bought this about a week ago and after reading a lot of reviews I’m very happy with my decision to purchase this product, went to children’s sporting events and I must see I’m very impressed with the functionality of the Hooper 18 and boy oh boy when I arrived home after being out in this hot Georgia sun there was very little water left over from the ice melting and unlike our last cooler the sport drinks and water stayed ice cold. Yes it is a little expensive but you definitely get what you pay for.
As much as I appreciate that I can roll my truck over the Two 30 and the blood from my latest kill will not squirt out, the Flip 18 is far more practical, contents easier to access and as easy to schlep around. When you open it after a long hike on a hot day, everything is protected and perfectly cold.
Bought this two years ago it has always been a struggle to zip it up. Some of the prong sure just turned upside down causing the zipper to stop working. After trying to tug it to close the zipper came completely off the track.
My Hopper 12's bigger brother, excellent for an overnight road trip or party to keep your beverages cold along with some snacks. Outfitted mine with one of the new drybags to keep some picnic extras at hand or our cell phones dry while on the lake.
Works very well at it's main job, keeping stuff cold and looking good doing it and is tough as you'd ever need a cooler to be.
Purposely bought the Yeti before our 1200 mile road trip and it truly kept our food and beverages chilled perfectly with minimum ice usage. A suggestion to improve would be to have an open zipper opportunity on both sides of the cooler (like suitcases for easier access. I'm hopeful the zipper will open more easily with more use...have to use muscles to open!
This item is the perfect size for traveling and holding all of our gear like ice, beer, juices for the kids, etc. We have larger yetis and this is our first smaller (soft) Yeti purchase! The handle on the top is convenient to carry and it also has a nice strap to use for over the shoulder. Overall, super happy with our purchase!
As a long time owner of Yeti coolers, I immediately jumped at the opportunity to purchase the original version of the Hopper when it was introduced a couple of years ago. The new Hopper Flip combines the convenience and portability of the soft side cooler and the ease of use of the traditional hard coolers. The flip top lid allows you to completely open the cooler for easier access to what's inside. Excellent design excellent product. A great idea, finally perfected!
I have had a number of Yeti products, including the original Hopper with the oval shape a couple of years ago, which I still use and love to this day. But that opening was tricky to manage, so I went for the new Hopper Flip 18 - it is so much more perfect, especially for a few-day solo trip, where one-hand use is required. Thanks, Yeti!!
Yeti - I am thinking why spend the money, an ice chest is an ice chest. But, in talking with folks, reading reviews, and a good sale. I decided to take the plunge and purchased a Yeti. Is it worth the cash? - Yes. I did a little experience, took these ice chests, 1 - plain, 1 brand name and the new Yeti. Added the same amount and same type of ice. Let them sit in my garage one summer day. 12hrs later, the plain one and name brand one had more water then ice, while the Yeti had only a small amount of water. Next morning, plain one is mostly water, named brand is a little bit better, and the Yeti is about where those two where at 12hrs.
The only thing I would change, is I wish it had an outside small zippered pocket for napkins, wine opener, small utensils, etc. I know you can but an attachment, but I would prefer a small pocket as part of it. Overall love it! Very well made and keeps things cold cold
We've had it a few weeks and have used it for lots of different things and it does the job every time. It has the versatility of a soft cooler but keeps things cold longer than any other soft cooler we've ever had
Bought a month ago took it out for a short kayak trip ice melted within a few hours, was disappointed with the results. This past week we went on a camping trip and it did what it was supposed to do. Love my Yeti!!!
I recieved this little number for a Fathers Day gift. I must have been a killer dad this past year. My wife chose the hoper over the tundra so she could selfishly take it to the park and beach with the kids when I’m at work. No more warm juice boxes for this family. We beat it up pretty good and it lives up to the YETI name. Our family is a darn walking advertisement, and I’m OK with that! Best soft cooler on the market
Received the hopper 18 for Father’s Day and have used it twice now. Nothing stayed cold for even twentyfour hours. My family has other styles that are awesome. Not sure if this one is faulty or if they all are. - cannot recommend
This cooler is amazing! It is the PERFECT size and keeps drinks cool forever. Accidently forget to unpack the cooler with a few beers left in it over night? No problem, still chilled the next morning. The size of this cooler is ideal. It is small enough that I don't feel like I am lugging around a huge, heavy cooler, but large enough to hold enough cans for a beach day along with snacks and lunch stacked on top of the cans. The one and ONLY suggestion to Yeti is, STOP LABELING THE OUTSIDE OF YOUR BOXES!! My cooler was stolen from my mailroom, yes stolen, and yes, replaced by the VERY helpful customer service team. But really, its like shipping a mac book pro in a box that says Apple on the outside of it for everyone to see- so be aware of this and know when its being delivered.
I'm not what you may call an outdoorsman but I wanted a cooler for the everyday use and for beach visits. I've been buying Yeti products for awhile so I decided to give the Hopper a chance. I am extremely pleased with the product and is great for keeping in my drunk for long grocery runs or carrying a wine bottle and some ice waters for the beach shore. I know the product is marketed for rugged adventurers, but this is also suitable for everyday life and weekend trips. I highly recommend it to every out there who wants the best!
The durability and ease of cleaning so impressed me! Pricey? Yes. You want nice things be prepared to take care of them. Well done Yeti on this cooler. We look forward to expanding our purchases with your products.
Bought this on the Yeti website via My.Id at a really good price. If you haven’t joined that....google it. Wanted to replace my 20 Rodie for the beach....the 20 loaded up was really heavy.....this fits the bill for me, great quality.
This product does everything it says it will. It keeps everthing cold as can be and it never leaks a drop. It's also a very conveinent size to carry. My wife uses it when she grocery shops to put perishable items in on hot summer days.
This is my 3rd Yeti and my favorite. Easy to carry and holds a ton. Loaded it last night with drinks and ice stored it in my truck all night and most of the day. The temp down here has a feels like of 103 but when I got in my Hopper 18 it was just like I had just put the ice in there. Drinks and food ice cold! Love my Roadie 20 and Tundra 50 but this one is a go anywhere and everywhere cooler for sure.
