Be it attempting to make a connecting flight across an airport, having luggage tossed out of a float plane onto a dock in Nowheresville, or traveling in the back of a pickup in a snow storm for 6 hours...the Panga doesn't require mollycoddling, special attention, or preferential treatment. I do not have to worry about a skiff of snow or a cloud burst with the Panga. This bag holds up to some of the most aggressive baggage handlers on three continents...with barely a scuff. This is the ultimate travel bag I have been looking for for 45 years.
It is robust, it is right-sized, it travels easy, it protects the contents, and it doesn't shout "Hey, over here, steal me!"
I have been using this Panga 50 for about a year, and is terrific, except for one thing. The opening is too small and is difficult to get some things into it. Levis, shaving kits etc. require fighting to get into the bag. Fine leather shaving kits will end up taking a beating. Otherwise a great duffle.
Got the Panga 50 as swag on a group fishing outing to Alaska. Bag is well built and seems very durable. However, the zipper design makes it very tough to pack and unpack. A U shaped flap design would be much better and would make it a five star plus rating.
We have been getting a lot of pop up rain storms, wade fishing you walk a lot of shoreline, sure is nice to get back to the boat an know I’ll have some dry clothes and gear, really good investment, I’m going to keep buying Yeti gear, it’s Awesome.
I bought this bag for my father and his trip to Alaska. He absolutely loves it and it has kept everything dry and clean. Totally worth the price and i will be buying two more for an upcoming trip I have.
We all know what it is like to lose a trusted and valued piece of equipment after several years. That's what happened to me when my long-time favorite boat bag busted a zipper just as we were preparing to leave for Belize and fish the Tres Pescados 2018 Slam Tournament. Having had my eye on a Panga as a go-to waterproof duffel, I decided to quickly make the purchase and try it out as just not a piece of luggage, but as our boat bag as well. The Panga performed a trifecta. It packed as a perfectly sized carry for all of my electronics and photo equipment, it could be carried on my back leaving me a free hand for my rod case and Yeti coffee mug and when I arrive here to start our 12 days of fishing, it made the transformation into an ideal waterproof boat bag, securely holding fly boxes, rain gear and photo equipment. The latter of course, being the most moisture sensitive and therefore the must valued cargo in the Panga. Happy to report all stayed dry, secure and by the way, we won the 2018 Tres Pescados Slam Tournament with our Panga in tow! I do have one suggestion to make an already great piece of equipment even greater--for future versions include a wide mouth opening mechanism for an even easier way to retrieve and put back equipment in the Panga.
I bought this bag to have something that could be used for many different circumstances. I used it while I traveled, it was the perfect carryon bag. Great for camping and everything else in between. The bag can also hold so much stuff. It felt like a bottomless pit with all I was able to fit inside. If you are looking for the perfect travel/camping bag and everything else in between...then the Panga 50 is the way to go.
Exactly the reason I went with a yeti bag. Built to take anything. Extremely happy with the quality of this bag. Only wish it had small handles on each side of the zipper. ones like on the ends of the bag.
Love everything about this bag. Travels well & its beyond durable. No complaints. However, I would like to see a Panga 35 added to the lineup to be used as a boat bag. The 50 is just too big on a flats boat.
Bought this for a tubing trip and it was awesome!!! It held up through the rapids and over the rocks. Flipped upside down several times and no water got inside. It also dragged over several rocks and did not have any damage. It was a great investment.
I wish that I bought one sooner! This bag is built like a tank! I beat my gear up while hiking, kayaking, fishing, and road trips, I normally only get a year at best out of a gear bag. I am pretty sure that the only reason that I will need to buy another will be for more storage, not for lack of durability.
In the past month, I've purchased 2 coolers, 5 ramblers, 2 sidekicks, 2 molle zingers, and, most recently, the Panga 50. Like every other Yeti product I see in field, boat, or next to the coffee maker, this bag is built for the wild and built to last. Everywhere I go, more and more people are waving the Yeti flag and everyone agrees... these things don't break! The Panga is no exception and I look forward many years of travel and adventure with my ever-growing Yeti collection.
I received this Bag as a gift, My friends know I'm a yeti Fanatic, Why, 3 Hard Coolers, 2 soft coolers and numerous cups and containers. When I get something I want it to last forever, Yeti products, Last , I have taken Numerous Trips and I throw this Bag in the Back of my truck, have gone through numerous storms. Everything Stays dry and ready for my outing. I don't have to get somewhere and wonder if it leaked. I do admit the Zipper is super tight, but i can live with that. I cannot say enough good things about my yeti products.
I purchased this bag about a month ago. I have write a few bags but I wanted a smaller duffel that could either as a weekend bag bit could also serve as a bag on a fly fishing trip. While I have not yet tested it on the river, I have used it for a few overnight trips. The bag is sturdy to say the least. Plenty of room for a weekend trip. The shoulder straps are comfortable and really make this an easy bag to carry. if I had to pick one thing needing improvement, it is the access to the inside. The bag is somewhat rigid so when the zipper is opened you can not easily spread the opening to fit larger items, such as a dopp kit. However this is only a minor inconvenience, and a fine tradeoff for a tough bag. I am very happy with the purchase and look forward to many years of use. Well done Yeti.
I love this bag. I bought one in each size, and have used them for camping trips and military duty. I love that I can keep them outside in a summer thunderstorm, and my clothes remain perfectly dry. The only small downside I see is getting some items into the 50 can be difficult. I wonder if placing the zipper on an angle would alleviate this issue by making for a wider opening? That said, great bag that will get years and years of use in my house. Thanks for another great product!
I've had this bag for about a month now and its truly amazing! It's been down the Delaware river four time and has never failed me. In the past I used other dry bags but nothing ever kept things dry the way in which the Panga does. I'm truly happy and will write another review at the end of the summer; once the bag has been down the river another 20 or so times
I purchased this bag for my dad for Fathers Day. He is an active boater and I felt he needed something water proof for his electronics. He was thrilled with the quality of the product. He feels confident that his gear is now safely protected. I would recommend this product to anyone who enjoys spending time on the water. (He did comment that the insider of the zipper is sharp.
Fantastic Bag with Amazing Features to last a Life
Out of the 9 Yeti products I own, this one is by far my favorite. I purchased with the intention of trying out and possibly returning, but I am glad that didn't happen. This bag is the perfect size and will no doubt last longer than any bag I have ever owned. The zipper is a little hard to open, but it breaks in slightly after the first few uses. The only reason this does not get a 5 star and the hesitation I have before recommending this bag is the lack of shoulder strap. This is the most expensive duffel in its category and doesn't come with one of the most basic, universally preferred methods of carry - throwing the bag strap over your shoulder to easily walk around and not feel the weight of the bag on your back. Once Yeti begins to offer this with the bag, it will be the ultimage.
Purchased about a week ago and have already used it on a day to day basis lugging my gear around for work. Don’t have to worry about the elements getting to my patrol gear and vice versa don’t have to worry about my gear damaging the duffel due to the enhanced materials it’s made of. One of numerous yeti products purchased and like the rest it always delivers!
I have had my Panga 50 for about 2 months now and love it! It definitely exceeded my expectations during my 7 day canoe trip in Quetico Provincial Park in Ontario. All our other packs were under a rain fly, while the Panga 50 was left out in the elements. Only one way to test it right?? I'd buy this bag over and over again. P.S. with minimal items inside it works as a very comfy chair since it is airtight. Once I found this out, it became my chair while I would fillet walleye. A+ Yeti
I carried the Panga 50 for 8 days while fishing in Southeast Alaska. The first 3 days, including the drift boat float into the cabin were non-stop rain. This bag performed flawlessly whether keeping all my gear completely dry, carrying comfortably or fending off alders and devils club while bushwhacking to find steelhead. It performed equally well as my carry on and in the more “civilized” adventure of air travel. Thank you for a 100% waterproof bag!
Superb, the millisec you lock the zipper, no air or water gets in or out. And they provide the lubricant for the zipper, to make it last essentially forever. And the 50 size is perfect for carry on, so the baggage handlers won't go crazy. Overall, 6 star rating. SGE
let me start by saying I love near everything about this. from the way it carries, in hand, over shoulder, or on your back, it feels great. The pack does exactly as advertised. i only have one complaint. the opening. it is very hard to pack and then retrieve items. The opening could use some redesign. possibly a U-Shaped zipper allowing for a top "flap" would remedy this.
The Panga 50 is a great size to pack for 2 people overnight or just throw towels in and head to the beach. Keeps everything dry rain or shine. The backpack straps are a terrific way to carry it...very comfortable. Money well spent!
Purchased this bag to take on a week long fishing trip. My expectations were high, but when I received the Panga 50 I was blown away at the build quality. This thing is built like a TANK!!! I live in FL and my entire trip was dealing with tropical storm conditions, rained 3 days straight and this bag kept all of my electronics bone dry. Couldn't be happier.
Have been through many different roll up dry bags and this one beats them all. It holds its shape well when not entirely stuffed and really is submersion proof!!! A good investment to protect your gear.
Great weekend bag for just about anything and way cooler than just a duffle bag. Loaded it with stuff, and through it in the jeep without a worry. Will really put it through it’s paces on an Alaska trip in August, and on the boat in Florida.
I just bought the bag for a three day / 2 night float trip on the Gunnison Gorge. The Panga 50 was the perfect size for the float raft, and easily held my sleeping bag, pad, waders, shoes, fly gear, and clothes for the trip (tents and food gear provided by the guides. Also fit easily onto the overhead bin in the plane. Only criticism is the tendency of rod tubes to slip in the loops, especially while hiking. My Velcro system did not work well. Minor issue. Others on the trip, including the guides, were commenting that they planned to get a Panga too. Great job Yeti!!
This gear bag truly held up to the demands of my recent adventure to kayak and hike the Napali Coast on the island of Kauai in Hawaii.I had secured all my valuable electronics and other items that I did not want to risk getting wet inside during the voyage. The seas were rough during the kayak portion and the bag was more then tested when riding the waves into the beaches. The shoulder straps were perfect during the hiking portion into the Kalalau valley. Overall a very solid gear bag that I would highly recommend for any adventure.
