The large YETI Tundra 160 cooler is designed for true lovers of the outdoors: guys and gals who are in the field or on a boat season after season for whom ordinary coolers just won't cut it. Durable? Oh yes. This marine cooler is made from the same roto-molded polyethylene as whitewater kayaks. And the molded-in self-stopping hinges mean you'll never have to replace a busted hinge again. Effective? You bet. Two to three inches of insulation extra-thick walls and a freezer-style gasket mean you'll spend more time doing what you love and less time restocking ice. Large? It is that. Whether you regularly bag big game or haul in gaffers the YETI Tundra 160 hunting cooler and marine ice chest has enough room to hold an elk multiple deer or larger offshore species like cobia grouper or mackerel. Or the recommended 100 cans in case you have a powerful thirst. If you happen to take this top-quality cooler into bear country don't fret - it's been certified grizzly proof.
NOTE: All Tundra models come standard with one dry goods basket.
As a Boat captain for a fishing and spearfishing operation I use my gear everyday and it gets tested in all conditions and weather. My Yeti 160 has performed through all of this and keeps on ticking. I 100% recommend these coolers they keep ice and are solidly built. I have kept bags of ice in it for 4 days in 75 degree weather.
I bought mine a copule months ago and it works great. But the only thing is that it always leaks water. Out the drain port when tighten. I'm just wondering is the kid suppose to be a tight fit where water don't leak out cuz mine leaks out
I purchased this for a family camping trip for 4 days. I was able to fit all the food and drink we needed plus 15 bags of ice. I have two children so the was a lot of opening and closing of the cooler but every thing was kept cold until the end of the trip plus 4 days under my carport. So that's 8 days of 75 to 90 degree weather. Side note, I bought this size based on someone else's review of how well it fit in the back of a Toyota Tacoma and it does fit perfectly against the cab behind the wheel wells.
Just too our first 10 day camping trip and our Yeti Tundra 160 was a life saver. There produce we kept in the basket above the I've stayed cold like in the refrigerator the entire time. We never changed or added ice!
Of course a cooler that big full of ice and food is going to be heavy, but my only complaint is the heaviness of the cooler empty. Not sure if there is a way to make it lighter and still keep the functionality, but it could be a future goal.
We recently bought a boat and were looking for a cooler that would double as extra seating in the cockpit. After hemming and haaing for several days we decided to take the plunge and fork over our money. We are so happy we did. We added the Yeti cushion as well and now our beverages remain frosty while we're happy houring around the islands and our friend's butts don't hurt!
I’ve had all kinds of coolers before, what an abesolute difference the Tundra series make. Things actually stay cold and stay that way for a long time!! Not only that but you can see and feel just how well made this cooler is. Don’t bother buying those cheaper coolers where the hinges break and your buying ice everyday. Spend a little more for quality now and you’ll be greatful when it means the most later!
Bought the cooler on vacation in the keys tierd of buying ice ever day the cooler works great all yeti for me .I had a soft spot in the lid after less than a year they replaced the cooler and did so fast. It’s nice to see a company that truly stands behind their products.
This is not my first Yet, and you are not reading this to know if it's a good cooler, or not. They're great coolers. But what is interesting is that it fits in the bed of my Tacoma like the engineers were collaborating. And, it's huge. There will be no moving it once it's full of elk and ice...
I bought my first Yeti product (30 oz Rambler) 3 years ago. It kept my drink so cold for so long that I just had to try the Tundra. It was just as amazing. I am now the happy owner of 4 Tundras, a Hopper, a Flip Roadie and a complete line of drinkware.
I bought this cooler specifically for fishing and I couldn't be more happy with it. It keeps my catch super cold for hours even days if necessary. If I come home and I'm too tired to clean fish, no worries. I just leave it in my yeti and when I'm ready so is my catch.
This is the third cooler I have purchased from Yeti. Every cooler, every transaction, and every experience so far with Yeti has been top notch! Looking forward to packing my new 160 with plenty of wild game this fall! Thanks again for making a line of products that hold up to the rigors of outdoor life I put them through!!
My husband went big!! He always says no one likes to go to a small auction! lol Seriously though this is going to make a great dual purpose cooler for our camping trips. We named our 160 Big Jake and our Hopper 20 Clyde!! You will not be disappointed with any of their products we also own many 30 oz, 20 oz, ramblers and custom colsters.
Recently spent a week out fishing the flats in the Florida Key's. Filled the cooler at the beginning of the trip and didn't need to twice about it. Even in the blazing Florida heat refilling the cooler is an after thought.
I purchased the yeti 160 for all around use but bought mainly for use as a meat cooler for elk quarters as well as multiple pronghorn during early season hunts. Currently I own 4 yeti coolers of various sizes and couldn't be more pleased with the quality, toughness, and overall design of their products. In my opinion it is worth the extra money to have a superior product and last longer than cheap coolers. Spend the money once for the cooler that will outlast and save money in the long run
I recently upgraded both of our inshore charter boats to tundras. Incorporating Yeti tundra cushions and sea deck tops. The tie down systems are bullet proof along with the drink holders. Being used daily the tundras are bullet (charter) proof. Great product!!
Yeti has a durable product that is not only reputable but a piece of mind when purchasing the quality that comes with the name. Yeti’s over engineered ruggedness does not disappoint even in this larger model cooler. It’s an excellent cooler and everything you expect with the Yeti brand.
Great for hunting, cam and trips to the fish camp!
Holds ice like a YETI! I use mine for hunting trips, camping, cabin trips and as a fish box on offshore trips. Basically anytime I need to keep a lot of ice for a long time or expect to fill a cooler with fish/big game the 160 is my go to!
I hunt the Texas hill county. Our deer range from 80-120lbs on the hoof. I can easily fit 3 quartered deer in this cooler and keep it cold for A week after initial ice melt. Yes ice melts every time I put an additional deer in I can’t expect ice to not melt when dropping 90 degree meat on it but I normally drop in fresh quarters wait A couple hours open drains. Poor in fresh ice and it will keep for days after. I keep mine locked in my pickup bed until emptied, it’s heavy when loaded understandably.
Great looking cooler. Heavy and durable. I do wish the big coolers came in different colors, but it is to keep things cold not be a show piece. Have not had a chance to put it through the paces, but excited to do so. Thank you Yeti.
