You can't go wrong with Yeti. Although, you may pay for it up front, itll pay you back for years to come. Built tough and roto molded for a lifetime of use. The last icebox you'll ever need to buy. Gave 4 stars because there's always room for improvement.
I bought my yeti tundra 65 at REI camp store for a 9 day Baja Mexico camping trip to a remote beach with no facilities - packed the cooler on a Friday night and still had ice in it the following Wednesday and it kept stuff cold for two more days after that - worth the money - REI gives a 20% discount if you join their membership FYI - I froze tiny water bottles from Trader Joe’s and put a layer of them on the bottom and then packed with ice - you must cool the cooler overnight and everything you put inside it has to be chilled . Pack the ice to the very top - no air space
I wanted to replace one of my hunting coolers with the 65 to see how it performed. It doesn't hold as much food/game as I had hoped. It does a decent keeping ice, and took longer to cool down than I expected but once it's cold it works well.
I already have a 45 but needed something slightly bigger but didn’t want to go to that 75 or 110 level. The Tundra 65 works perfect for all my outdoor activities and when I use both the 65 and 45 together, it’s perfect!
I love my Yeti 65 cooler! I guide camping trips in the 10,000 Islands in southwest Florida and the climate is extreme! I use block ice and after 3 days/2 nights most of the ice is still frozen. I need to order 2 more coolers and was wondering if it will ever be made with wheels?
Love these coolers! Own several YETI hard coolers and soft coolers. This tundra 65 is perfect for my everyday use! Never leaves my truck between work and play! Does it’s job day after day! I put 2 bags of crushed ice every 3-4days and it holds ice incredibly well! Even living in the Arizona desert! Charcoal color is on point! YETI FOR LIFE!!!
This is a summer long review. my friends and i went camping in our hunting area, we had a few setbacks durring the trip and a friend and i got stranded about 20 miles away from camp with a loaded Tundra 65 and two guns. we started a fire and without knowing the Yeti was slightly too close... A few war wounds later and we made it back to camp to discover that the back of the yeti was bubbled and the ice and drinks were still ice cold. so we head up hunting, same 65 "tied" on the trailer we get up to set camp and notice that it is still attached to the trailer however not on the trailer. still sealed and still cold. we got camp setup and were inside and we hear wolves howling... the yeti is still outside... still scented with multiple summer briskets... may live through a bear but a pack of wolves will try to drag it from camp. still have the cooler that has survived being filled with drinks all summer used daily, melted, drug and almost stollen by a pack of wolves. 8 days in camp and my Yeti Ice was still slushy. Amazing product.
We bought a Yeti Tundra 50 last spring after vowing to never spend that kind of money on a cooler and 6 months later we picked up a Tundra 45 and regret not getting these years earlier. We froze 4 OJ bottles with water and placed them in each corner and it kept everything cold for four days. Then switched out the bottles with 4 more to finish up the last three days of our trip. It kept everything perfectly cold, in fact our drinks started to slush up the second day with temps in the 70's and 80's. They are tougher than nails and have been part of every family vacation, the kid's sporting events, hunting and fishing trips we have taken this year. Definite a scenario where you get what you pay for. Like I mentioned above, we should have bought them years ago.
I have a 20 roadie so......... I decided to get a bigger one because Working in Alabama it's HOT! Plus all my buddy's where trying to stuff there drinks into my 20! Once you get the Yeti Cooler ICE COLD plus drinks too, the ICE will last up until you run out of ICE COLD drinks! lol... SO the rule is... Drink One..Put On!
I purchased this cooler after 18-months of research and despite the inclination to buy a cooler from a competing company to satisfy my contrarian tendencies. The military discount and free shipping made the pricing about equal so I went with the Tundra 65. The Thursday before Labor Day I loaded it with two 10-pound blocks of ice, 7lbs of grocery store cubed ice, and food only - which left plenty of space as the cubed ice was at the bottom. I deliberately left it in the sun over Labor Day weekend with temperatures around 80+ degrees. On Labor Day I drove home, unloaded the food (butter, guac, spreads, and smoked salmon were all cold and firm, and added 18-cans of cold beer. I left it in my condo until Tuesday evening (9/4/18) when I handed it off to a friend for our trip to the Sawtooth NRA in Idaho. My friend added one additional 10-pound block with no additional cubed ice on the trip from Seattle to Idaho. The cooler sat in his 4-Runner in 70-80 degree temperatures from Thursday to Sunday. When we came off the trail Sunday there was just a tiny bit of ice left with ice cold water; the beer was still deliciously cold. My friend returned home on Monday night with the cooler and reported that he was finishing the beer because it was still cold. When I asked how cold, he stated it was as cold as the beer we order from any of our favorite bars. That's three 10-pound blocks of ice, 7lbs of cubed ice, and cold beer on day 11. For comparison purposes our 110-quart other brand beer cooler was loaded with beer, one block of ice, 50-lbs of cubed ice, placed next to the Yeti over Labor Day weekend, and we had to add 70lbs of additional cubed ice between Friday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend in order to keep the beer cold. I'm worried I may now become addicted to seeing how little ice I can put in this cooler and still have cold food and beer. Definitely glad I didn't follow my contrarian ways.
we've used the yeti a couple times now and wow! it keeps it cold! even when the ice ran out (day 3) it still had the temperature of the inside of a fridge for an extra day! only con is the sticky bottom, I can see where it makes sense, but loading into the back of the truck is a bit more challenging.
Before I left on my honeymoon I bought a tundra 65 as we would be packing a lot of our own food with us. I’m ever so glad I bought my tundra! It kept ice for days and days and worked as our mini fridge while we were on our trip. These things are built tough as are all Yeti products I’ve purchased. Definitely the best cooler I own by far!
My wife and kids bought this for me on Fathers Day 2018. I have enjoyed this cooler every single use. It has kept the ice cooler for longer than anything else. It is durable and doesn't show wear like many of the other brands out there. I will buy more Yeti products in the future because they simply work longer. At my age I just want to keep up with my cooler.
Got the cooler cold Friday morning went out to do some running around loaded the cooler up food ,beer, and ice at noon and on the road kept ice till Monday what was even better is my little beer fridge went out over the weekend got home late Sunday afternoon put those beers in the cooler and got them cold awesome cooler
Bought this for camping trips and any other event or occasion that we may have. Got tired of all our ice melting and going bad on just quick weekend trips. This Yeti will pay for itself in all the food we will save from tossing!
I've had the 65 for over three years and have loved it but recently noticed less and less ice retention now it wont hold ice a day. Pulled cooler out of the back of truck to find/see water splashing out of the cooler due to the warped lid. Waiting to hear from customer support, hopefully Yeti will stand by their product. We'll see if vise grips help for now. Sucks having to explain why it doesn't keep ice.
Hands down the best brand out there. Just got back from a 5 day vacation and this cooler rode in the back of my truck the whole time. Temps averaged 90 through the day. Never reached in and grabbed a warm drink, always ice cold.
I bought the Tundra 65 after using my Tundra 45 frequently. The 65 is the perfect size for weekends away and to keep all your beer cold. I know keep all my food/beverages in the 65 and use the 45 as an additional ice chest, that usually gets spread out to other non-Yeti coolers, since the 65 will have ice all weekend.
I had only heard great things about these coolers so I decided to give one a try. Just went camping the other week and got to put it to the test. I was very impressed! I kept meat, veggies, fruit, beer, etc. in the cooler and it stayed ice cold the whole time. There was even ice in it after two days!! The durability and insulation are amazing. You won't need to buy another cooler ever again. They're expensive but totally worth it for the quality.
Bought this cooler because everyone that I work with owns some type of Yeti. Even the teenagers that run the registers have yeti cups. Thought it was time to run with the big dogs. The cooler is amazing holds ice for days. I used yeti advice from the website about keeping ice longer. It worked great!!! Thanks yeti for a superior product.
I finally broke down and spent the extra money for a Yeti and realize that I shouldn’t have been so cheap and should have done this sooner. What a solid, well working cooler this is. I expect to have this for many years.
The first use for my yeti cooler was to keep 50 Dairy Queen blizzards cold. We had to leave the lid open or the blizzards became blocks of ice cream. Yeti you don’t fair or disappoint. I’ve got 2 coolers, 2 canteens and sevral tumblers and 1 water proof/resistant bag. All I’ve put through the rounds and they perform as promised! THANK YOU.
We just purchased our first Yeti Tundra and took it camping within a week of it showing up on our doorstep. It was in the 90's, we were there for 4 nights, and there was STILL ice in the cooler when we headed home!!!! This cooler ROCKS.
We heard from a friend that he loved his new cooler, so I got one for my partner's 30 birthday and all his friends were remarking. We used it the following weekend and it worked perfectly! One of our friends brought a knock-off brand that looked identical and used it the same weekend, so we saw first hand it didn't work nearly as well. Worth the $!
I have 3 Yeti coolers, 65, Roadie 20, and Flip 12. I have been very happy with all of the coolers. We go to our cabin on an island for several days with no worries of ice or our about our food and beverages. Thank you Yeti!!
I am in sales and travel with samples daily, stays cold for days . I researched these coolers for quite some time and I can tell you they are worth every penny . Plan on adding to the collection soon .
We love all our Yeti products! The tumblers, ramblers, camino, and our most recent purchase, the tundra! All the products are so durable and work precisely how they should. Can't wait to add more to our collection!
