Just four months later, on October 17 during a fishing trip, it unexpectedly snapped about 15 inches from the tip while I was gently untangling line. The rod was only slightly bent—maybe 5 degrees—so the break was surprising given how well I’d cared for it. When I attempted to file a warranty claim, I was informed there would be a $60 fee to cover “shipping and handling, materials, and overhead.” That’s nearly half the original cost of the rod, which feels excessive considering the short time I’d owned it and the light use it had seen. Up until this incident, I genuinely enjoyed using the rod. If it were an older rod, 5-6 years old wouldn't be so bad, but this is BS. Imagine if you just bought it and broke it the first time out and had to pay another $60.
