They do indeed excel at 'urban hiking', and shorter trail jaunts. Recently, after my La Sportiva shoes crapped out, I took these on a 33 mile round trip, with a light pack (15lb). Initially they were good, and my toes stayed comfortable as the miles rolled on. However, the padding is lacking for rocky or hard trails (and this trail was not as rough as some), and my heels felt it. Lacing system is likewise lacking a bit to deal with the inclines. They ventilate well.
