I emailed the company asking about a repair. They responded that I could send them at MY cost and IF they found them to be defective they would replace with the same or a lesser priced item. How would they know if they squeaked if they didn't wear them? And what if they didn't squeak for them? Would that supposedly make them non-defective? I found their response unacceptable and just accepted that I'd not be able to wear them. Today when I decided to wear them anyway because they are comfortable after all, the zipper broke. Initially I was surprised - they seemed a half size long despite other comments saying they ran small - and I was going to exchange them. But I needed black boots for an event, put some socks on, wore them, and didn't want to take them off. I've worn them every day since. They fit like a glove and are comfortable walking everywhere. Can dress up or down. I'd thought no boots would ever approach my navy blue Fallons, but these are making me reevaluate. I wanted them for casual wear, so the heel height was right for that. That is stated as two inches, but the height is closer to 1 5/8\". The grey color is wonderful in my cool-toned wardrobe - this and the fact that I'm so bored with black are the main reasons I kept these. The design is elegant, with the slightly ruffled treatment on the outsides and at the tops of the ankle of the boots. BUT, the fit is not good. I ordered a size 38, up from my usual 6 1/2-7/37. This was after reading reviews that said these ran small. So the length is fine. The width is extremely narrow. I'd call these AAA, not B/medium whatsoever. My feet are narrow and low-volume but in boots I always order medium, so I can wear thicker socks for warmth. There is absolutely no way I can do that with these. I'm okay with thin socks in these; they're not too tight or uncomfortable. Maybe they'll stretch out a bit; I'll see. It gets really cold here and I may not be able to wear these boots when it gets below 20F. I have a dozens booties ( they are my favorite) and these I swiftly became my favorite. I wear them almost every day. They are perfect in every way. Comfortable with the perfect size heel. Oh and the price- great! Contoured and feminine I wear them with skinny jeans, croopped or slightly flared pants. They are also ideal with dresses and tights. They fit like a glove out of the box and can be worn all day without any discomfort. I sometimes find booties are stiff and then are uncomfortable around the ankle, but that's not the case here. I'm currently in my third trimester and haven't been wearing heels for the last 2 months, but the low heel on these is comfortable. I also like the almost-pointy shape of the toe - it's a good balance between the super-point that is really trendy now, and something that will still be in style even when that trend is over. I got the graphite colour and it's a lovely dark grey.
