Truthfully, I would have purchased another Carhart, but they no longer make that same model. It was a great coat and served me well all those years. I was disappointed to discover they no longer offered it. Dri Duck's Rambler Chore Coat was the closest thing I could find. It has all the features the Carhart had, plus a couple added touches I really like. The Rambler Chore Coat fits true to size. I'm 5'-7' tall, but wide in the shoulders, and a long torso. Large size is a good fit. Enough room in the chest and shoulders, and loose enough for a heavy vest or sweatshirt underneath, but not overly bulky. Maybe a tiny bit too long, but it's a coat, not a jacket. Sleeve length is generous. The materials are all excellent quality. Construction is top notch. Tight stitching, heavy-duty metal zipper. Plenty of pockets (interior and exterior), in the right places. I really like the drop back, which gives you a little extra length (great for keeping cold at bay when sitting in a cold UTV, plowing snow). I've only worn it in below-freezing weather a couple times so far, and it seems pretty warm. The interior quilted insulation lining is not as thick/fluffy as my old Carhart, but that doesn't mean it won't be just as warm. I'll need more time outside to find that out. Best of all, the Rambler Chore Coat cost me 20% less than the Carhart cost 15 years ago.
