They are very easy to install and come with clear directions (lots of YouTube videos are also available). They include the tools needed to remove the factory crossbars and install the Landing Pads. I looked at both Yakima and Thule racks; Yakima seems to be a superior and less kludgy choice for the Outback's factory roof rails. \n\nTip for installation: the 20 foot-pounds recommended torque isn't very tight, and is lower than most torque wrenches will read accurately, and it would be great if Yakima included a torque tool like the one provided with the Skyline towers.
