Worked perfectly and was super easy to put up and take down by myself. The connections to the vehicle are easy and you can deploy them in many different ways depending on your set up. I attached the clips directly to my sherpa roof rack...easy peasy. I was hesitant to spend the $$ on the highroads version, but I am so glad I did. It did get windy during the trip, but due to the thicker aluminum poles and big stakes, I didn't worry about the shelter folding, etc. I slept in the back of my 4runner, and was happy that the space inside the shelter offers plenty of privacy for changing clothes or using the privy. I will also be using this as a side tent to our little meaner bean teardrop trailer. I can not only use it with my truck that has a shell, I also leaned it over my camping tent door, stake it to the ground and use the top stripes to either tie to other loops on my tent or also run down to stakes.This makes a giant tent vestibule for any tent. I have a Kelty sun shelter and I wish that had the same easy exterior clip poles and pockets sleeves for the poles like this has. As we get older we wanted to go lighter and more mobile and are currently using a high rise truck topper with built in cots and drawers. I never thought I'd enjoy this kind of camping, but I love it with the added space of the Kelty High Roads Shelter! We have a TALL '99 4x4 Ford Long bed Super duty, and even with the added tall topper on it, the high roads shelter fits this truck great and with room to spare. (i think it is 102\" to top of topper). It adds an extra room on the back of the truck that we can stand with multiple feet above our heads to change clothes in, cook in if it is rainy, put chairs, store stuff, or just use it as a privacy/bug screen. It is incredibly fast to put up, the poles are super strong, it fits snugly to the side of the truck and topper, and it is totally rainproof. take down is just as easy. The bag, the zippers, the screens...they are all great! We considered getting the less expensive model of this tent, but are glad we spent a little extra for the added durability and aluminum poles. One thing I have added is a mesh screen for the back bumper of the truck that goes under the tailgate to keep bugs out that we attach with rare earth magnets. I am also going to sew a loop on the tent at the bottom curve of the door. We both feel it needs to be tied down there to prevent tripping and to facilitate opening the door when you are carrying something in your hands. We have owned 12-15 expensive tents in our 40 years of marriage, and this is by far our favorite! Until now, I've had to unload camping gear outside of the truck on the ground to make room for my sleeping pad and bag each night. With this shelter I'm now able to keep my camping gear organized next to the truck and protected from the elements. I've also been able to move duffel bags out of the truck giving me more room to spread out and sleep. All my gear was much easier to organize and keep track of since I could stand in the shelter and use the tailgate as a table. \r\n\r\nIt's super easy to set up, and uber-adjustable. I was able to set up and tear down in a light wind, solo. Since it was just myself, I kept the side wings tight to the truck - but there's room to spread them out for more space. All the adjustment straps are super long, and the poles look to be heavier duty than any other I've seen in years.
