I have asked for a supervisor to call me and they will not, I filed a claim with the BBB, and the response they sent back left most of the story out. I have sent several follow-up emails in the last week and they have not received a response. I was told no one would call me because I hung up on a customer service representative. When I informed them that I didn't just hang up, after they put me on hold for 15 minutes with no warning, I told them that I needed their supervisor to call me back. After much back and forth, they said they would, and I said I'm getting off of the phone now, and hung up. Spalding has had zero accountability for all of this. My goal broke during construction, after following the advice of a Spalding representative when I called in, the customer service I received was misleading, originally I was told new poles would be in within 30 days, but during this chat it got pushed to June, and then I was told that receiving the poles wasn't an option by another rep. The three options I have been give are to receive a refund (which I was told would take 8-12 weeks), get a goal with a smaller backboard, or pay an upcharge for a goal with the same size backboard as the one we purchased. If I hadn't been treated so poorly but Spalding customer service I would have happily paid the upcharge but I don't think any company that cares about their consumers would even dream of doing this. Why can't I get someone on the phone who isn't hateful? Why is customer service so hard for Spalding to achieve? I have never heard of a company refusing to call a customer. Not allowing me to talk to someone makes it appear like either 1. this request is not getting to the right person or 2. I wrote Spalding customer service to request a replacement part and got an immediate response with a link to where I could purchase the part for $75. When I wrote back saying that the part came broken they again responded promptly and requested proof of purchase. Poor packaging","text":"Ordered this on line directly from Spalding. Arrived a day late and In two FedEx boxes taped together telescope style. When I opened the box there was no packaging material- just the parts crammed in. Also missing was the bag full of bolts and nuts. \nI called up Spalding to complain about the missing pieces. They promptly answered my call and promised to send either the missing parts or a whole new system depending on availability. \nTwo days later whole new system showed up at the door. While the box was very much damaged, at least the packaging and parts were all in there. I think they need to consider shipping it in two boxes as it is almost 60 pounds and the cardboard can’t withstand FedEx’s handling of it. \nAssembly was relatively straight forward. Could have used a little more information about what height to install it at, but a quick look at the Q&A helped there. \nMy son in loving the system so in the end it is a great choice. I’d been looking for a system to mount to our existing 5” pole and the flexibility of the system was really the only choice on the market. There's NOTHING in the instructions that says how high to mount this thing!
