The customer service at the Utah location where I purchased this rifle was superb. When I noticed the Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 scope was out of alignment, an employee took the time to level and boresight my rifle, for free. \n\nThe rifle itself feels sturdy and well made. Savage Arms has a storied legacy and are known for quality and value. My initial impressions of the action were mixed. The bolt was stiff during operation; however, 300 or so reputations of dry firing have significantly lowered the stiffness of the action, and I can now manipulate the bolt in an acceptable manner. \n\nAt the range, I had difficulty pulling tight groups during the first 60 rounds. After researching ammunition for this firearm's barrel twist rate, I decided to shoot a Federal Sierra Match King 168 projectile. The result was tight groups (approximately 2.25\" at 200 yards, ~1.25 MOA). \n\nThe optic broke during the range, and a visible cant to the reticle suggested an internal failure. I contacted Savage - with which I had registered my firearm during the first 10 days after purchase - and they have sent an entirely new scope at no cost to me. \n\nOverall, I'm impressed with this rifle and the customer service that I received.
