That caused the ball of my foot to be lifted a little, and the strap rubbed a blister behind my big toe. Also, my arch wasn’t supported as expected because of the weird placement of the arch support. I’m a kayak instructor, and while I don’t paddle in them, they’re usually the first thing I put on when I step off the water.\n\nBecause my feet are often wet, a secure fit is critical. These sandals do an excellent job preventing my feet from sliding around, even when wet. The footbed and strap system keep everything in place without creating pressure points, which makes them comfortable to wear for extended periods after a long day on the water.\n\nTraction is another area where these perform well. Boat ramps, launch sites, and shorelines are often slick with algae, mud, or loose gravel, and the outsole provides reliable grip on those surfaces. That’s an important safety factor when you’re carrying boats and gear around the water.\n\nDurability has also been excellent. They’ve held up well to repeated exposure to water and long days in direct sun without noticeable breakdown or loss of comfort.\n\nMy only complaint in the past was that the company stopped offering half sizes, which made dialing in the fit a little difficult. I was glad to see that half sizes are available again, which makes getting a proper fit much easier.\n\nWhile they perform very well around the water, they’re not limited to that environment. I recently bought supportive flip flops from TEVA, but they didn’t grip my feet like these do and were too big, so I sent them back. These just fit my feet so well with good arch support and I’m planning on buying the other color as I wear them all year long as house shoes. I have wide feet and usually get wide if it’s available. These don’t come in wide but they fit fine for me and are wide enough.
