Not Salomon perfect fit!","text":"I was very eager and excited to try on the new Salmon Elixir Activ based on the positive reviews. After putting on these, it felt really weird and knew right away I had to return them. I've been wearing Salomon US women's size 7.5 shoes for many years covering pretty much all available older models and styles. This is my second time returning newly designed Salomon light running shoes due to sizing being too big and roomy in one year. I pulled the laces of the Elixir Activ as tightly as possible, and still couldn't get the lock down fit. The heel box was too big, the footbed too long, the mid foot too wide. The footbed felt clumpy because the contour of the arch support didn't align with the topology of the arch on my feet but butted up against the ball of the feet instead, feeling wobbly and unstable. After about 15 minutes, my ankle felt a little tender. I'm not sure what's going on with Salomon shoes design and manufacturing after 2023 or so. There's a saying that small feet can fit into bigger shoes, but big feet cannot fit into smaller shoes. These were supposed to be my real shoe size; but wearing them reminded me of the time when I was a small child playing in Mom's shoes. With the drastic change in shoe molds and design philosophy at Salomon toward casual loose fit footwear for leisure walking, these roomy shoes will not adequately protect the feet during rigorous outdoor activities and will incur more foot and joint injuries after prolonged training. This means that Salomon online need to offer shoe fitting service for customers to try on two possible adjacent sizes, in my case, US Women's sizes 7 and 7.5 in order to know which one works. The customer would need to pay for only one pair, and return the pair that does not fit. In the current situation, I can only wear older Salomon models available from Goodwill online or Ebay. As a loyal Salomon matron all these years, I'm tempted to give up on new Salomon shoe lines altogether, unless Salomon company implement some operational changes.
