I really love them (some are built more solidly than others depending on where they've been manufactured. I think my BF has one made in Vietnam that's sturdier than my made-in-China ones).\r\nI'm extremely disappointed with the so-called lifetime warranty. It costs roughly the same to buy a new chair off Amazon than to apply the warranty and ship a replacement chair to me in Canada. So the life-lifetime warranty is a bit of a sham outside the U.S. People should know that.\r\nWorse is having to destroy a chair that no longer rocks because the spring gave out — even though it still can be used as a regular folding chair. Instead of sending a replacement spring as you used do (used to be US$8 to ship a replacement spring to Canada), owners are required to destroy a functional chair with photos as proof, and send it to the landfill. For an outdoor gear company, this is alarming and honestly quite shameful. I'm a little embarrassed that I own multiple GCI rockers. There was some reason given about needing a rivet gun for the new spring and people not having rivet guns. I have a rivet gun. I want to waste less. I want to preserve the environment and cause less landfill. Please review this wasteful policy. Rivet broke. Easy fix i figured. Surely for such a high price tag they would gladly send me a replacement... no. They started by telling me how environmentally friendly they were and how I should take this bolt kit as a warranty. But I don't have a rivet gun. Not very people would. So I asked for a replacement.... well environmentally friendly went out the window. Id have to cut the chair in half.... screw this company. They got bought out by investors. They dont make quality at all. They are only worried about profit. Please do not waste your hard earned money on these chairs. They are junk. They are still in great shape. They need oiled once in a while. The only downside is the mesh back sat through a rainstorm at a ball game. I was all bundled up, even had an umbrella but didn’t realize until I stood up and sat back down that the mesh allowed all the water in to pool into seat. We had previously bought 4 of these chairs and they held up ok! These 2 are crap. I have already done a warranty on one but the second one ripped half into while my husband was sitting in it! He ways about 150lbs. So now….1 year later we have to replace the second one! I had to pay 20.00 and send a picture of the first one cut in half…..what is going on with GCI? This is our 3rd rocker and no issues with the first 2. Customer support says this is normal.
