Because of the design these bullets are extremely reliable and the first custom bullet that American hand loaders could purchase.

The bullets were introduced in 1939 and became popular among seasoned hunters who depended on accuracy and performance. This bullet delivered just that hunt after hunt. When the bullet impacts its target it usually expands over 200 percent of the original diameter while retaining up to 90 percent of its initial weight. These are not for reloading but are live ammunition.

Features:

Extra-Thick Copper Jacket: These bullets feature a jacket that is significantly thicker than standard soft points. This "heavy jacket" design prevents the bullet from fragmenting at close-range impact, ensuring deep penetration into the vitals.

Pressure-Formed Pure Lead Core: The core is pressure-formed for maximum density and uniformity, which provides consistent weight and balanced flight for improved accuracy in older rifling.

Tube-Safe Flat Nose (FN): The wide, flat meplat (tip) is engineered for safety in tubular magazines, preventing the tip of one bullet from striking the primer of the cartridge in front of it during heavy recoil.

Devastating Expansion: Upon impact, the soft lead nose expands into a large, mushroom shape, creating a wide permanent wound channel that is highly effective for anchoring big game.

Optimized for Classic Cartridges: This 255-grain projectile is perfectly weighted for the .38-55 Winchester and the .375 Winchester, providing the high sectional density required for deep penetration through heavy bone and muscle.

Traditional Performance: For hunters using vintage Winchesters or Marlins, these bullets provide the authentic performance and weight profiles that these rifles were originally designed to shoot.

Specifications:

Brand: Barnes Bullets

Series: Barnes Originals

Reloading Caliber: .38-55 WCF / .375 Winchester

Bullet Diameter: .357"

Weight: 255 gr

Bullet Type: FNSP (Flat Nose Soft Point)

Quantity: 50 Per Box

Construction: Lead Core / Copper Jacket (Note: Unlike the "TSX" line, Originals are NOT lead-free).

"
