At the end of my first day wearing them at work I had hot spots on both inner ankles and right pinky toe buckle. 2nd day, raw. Found an inner seam in the ankles of the shoes were to blame and the toe cap on the toe. Wrapped a plastic bag around my ankles to reduce the chaffing and gave it two weeks to break-in a they still rub my ankle bones raw. Couldn't be happier. They definitely can stand up to the worse thats thrown at them. Mud, snow, sleet, rain, hard pavement and metal. \n\nThey are comfortable enough to be casual, but also not bulky or intrusive. The padding on the interior is very nice and when paired with the Anti Fatigue they make a perfect match. I haven't had any slippage either which is fantastic. \n\nThis would be my fourth pair of Irish Setters. I don't remember which pair I started out with, but I ended up getting those around 2017. Following with a pair of Ashbys (for casual moments) Ive had since 2019 and had to retire a few months ago. A pair of St Elias which still are being used for hiking/camping trips and deep snow! \n\nI work in Aviation and im out in the weather a lot. My boots definitely get a beating against hard surfaces, steel equipment and aircraft. Stuff you would think wouldn't beat up a boot, yet it does and a cheap pair will just melt around your foot.
