The side pockets are large enough to accommodate gloved hands, and the chest pocket is large enough to easily accommodate an iPhone plus or what have you. The soft shell material is durable, and the blaze is as it should be - bright. It provides decent wind blocking capability, but it’s thinner than Cabela’s wind shear vest for example. The zipper has a cover, which is nice, but here are the negatives - the wind block behind the zipper only goes down about four inches. It would have been better if it went down all the way. It would be nice if there was a bungee at the hem to lock in heat. The biggest negative is that the zippers are really loud. You’ll have to be real careful if you need to access something while on a stalk. With that said, it ticks my boxes. Here in Colorado we have to wear 500 cubic inches of blaze on our torso when big game hunting, and it’s not as easy as one might think to find a vest that is more than just a piece of cloth. This vest is a substantive and functional outer layer in addition to meeting my blaze requirements. I got it for $50. I think $70 is overpriced. I’m 6’2”, 195lbs. I bought an XL, and that is large enough to layer under, without it being too large.
