Although it’s now marketed as a P229 model, I also have an original M11 and it is a P228. Both guns are identical but for one small difference. Sig discontinued the P228, of which the M11 was a slightly different version. P228 didn’t have the internal phosphate & Nitron coating which differentiates the M11 as it’s a military gun, needing to be salt water proof. Why do you think the M11 stock grips say P228? Comes standard with both the short reach trigger and short reset trigger, plus Siglite tritium sights. Accurate and controllable. I handled and trained with them in the Service and thought they were awesome! Super Comfortable, easy to point and manipulate… Unfortunately, I got issued an M9. After I got out, I wanted a non railed version like I had used in the Service and the M11 was the ticket! It has never malfunctioned once. Not a hiccup. Limp wrist, Weak hand, you name it. This is my daily carry and my competition pistol. It is the single pistol I will trust my life to. At the 12k Round mark I sent it in to sig to replace all springs and pins. Received it back in pristine condition. Love the phosphate coating also.
