Overall it is a great piece of equipment and works as powerfully - if you need something brushed clean it will definitely do the job. The only drawback is that it's heavy - as heavy or heavier than the actual Kombi motor unit. When brushing hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, stone) it is easy to use/maneuver with the handle on the Kombi unit. It gets up dirt, dust, rocks, trash, etc. but doesn't necessarily clean or remove stains from pavement (like a dirt or water mark on the sidewalk). Brushing off or cleaning grass, however - even short grass - the attachment has such a strong kickback that I have to brace myself before I engage the throttle, and I have to drive the unit forward with my other hand gripping and pushing from the shaft itself. It is a workout after 3-4 runs through grass, so I recommend making shorter bursts rather than long passes. I also tried moving an accumulation of of pea gravel (about 6 inches deep) back up grade. Because the attachment is as heavy as it is, the attachment just digs in and sinks itself in the mound of pea gravel. Maybe the power paddle attachment would be better for non-solid or unhard surfaces. \r\n\r\nOther than the weight, I am quite satisfied with this and excited to explore it's other adaptations to landscaping needs. I was looking for something to clean up the yard of our new home. The lot is about 3/4 acre. I basically used it upside down as a power rake and holy smokes did it do everything I was hoping it would do! Stones near the road, pine needles around a tree, thatch - ALL GONE. Grass - just fine. In a couple of hours I was done. I had to take a break and get more yard bags because of all the debris this thing removed. Many (seriously like one every 20 minutes) people stopped to get a closer look and find out where I bought it. I wanted to dethatch and clean up my lawn before seeding. After installing it I discovered if you install it upside down it will sweep towards you, turning this thing into an animal for cleaning up yard debris. You can literally operate the thing like a vacume cleaner. Give it some gas and push it forward and it rolls easily across the ground, pull the trigger and walk backwards and this thing will pull every bit of thatch, sticks, leaves right out of the grass and piles it up where you stop. Its like a power rake on crack. You can operate it with one hand holding it in a relaxed position much like a vacume cleaner. I had so mich fun using it, ill never use a rake again. It is the absolute best available for that purpose but have since found so many other uses!\r\n\r\nFirst and foremost, to use on synthetic turf or to power rake or de-thatch living grass, you must remove the guard (I'm not sure why it is needed in any application, lawyers probably just wanted one) and connect it to the power head \"upside down.\" This spins the brush in reverse so it now floats on the surface causing perfect distribution of infill for turf and causes no harm to living grass while removing everything, thatch, sticks, mulch, anything not rooted. Note that you are now \"pulling\" the brush. Again its floating so practically weightless in operation. Also we've learned to feather the throttle to \"walk it\" forward along the surface so the shoulder strap is unnecessary (and now lost) for either of these applications.\r\n\r\nAs for \"normal\" or right side up applications, it is a bit heavy and has a learning curve in this \"push\" mode but works better than a pressure washer to clean the dust from my rock piles from any hard surface. I also use it for snow removal. For any dry snow storm up to six inches or wet snow under three inches, it is faster for sidewalks than three guys with shovels. And unlike ATVs goes anywhere.
