Before going out on the bike trails, make sure your bike is in working condition by bringing it into your local SCHEELS Bike Repair & Service Shop for a tune-up. No matter how many miles you ride a year, it’s important to get a bike tune-up for your safety. For those who are casual riders, a check-in once a year will probably be sufficient, but if you frequently go on long rides, you may need to get your bike serviced two or more times each year.
When you bring your bike into SCHEELS, our associates will thoroughly inspect it and provide a free service pricing estimate. All of our locations offer three levels of bike tune-up packages: Standard Tune, Comprehensive Tune, and Overhaul. Typically, they will recommend one of these bike tune-up packages based on the condition of your bike.
Types of Bike Tune-Ups Available
Standard Tune
The standard bike tune-up option is one of the most popular choices and offers all the basics of a bike tune-up. With the standard tune, you can expect the following:

✔ Fill Tires
✔ Lube Chain
✔ Brake & Gear Adjustments
✔ Bike Wipe Down
✔ BB, Hub & Headset Adjustments
Comprehensive Tune
A comprehensive bike tune-up offers a few more services compared to the standard. This is recommended when your bike needs more attention after putting on a lot of miles or if it hasn’t been serviced in a while. With the comprehensive tune, you can expect everything included in the standard tune plus the following:
✔ Bike Wash
✔ Drivetrain Clean
✔ Wheel True (Lateral)
✔ New Cables & Housing*
*Please Note: New bar tape is required
Overhaul
An overhaul is much more than just a bike tune-up as our associates need to address several parts of your bike’s mechanisms so that it's ready to ride again. Typically an overhaul is done if a bike has a lot of miles on it or hasn’t been used for many years. With the overhaul package, you can expect everything that’s included in the comprehensive tune plus the following:
✔ Complete Bike Rebuild
✔ Wheel True (Dish, Hop, Lateral)
✔ Free Hub Body Clean & Lube*
*Please Note: Suspension is not included
