And they do. I live in Montana and and have snow and ice for most of the winter. I've had a knee replacement and cannot risk a fall so wear them every time I go outside. I walk my dogs several times a day covering probably 3+ miles per day. The pair of grippers I bought lasted about 1/2 a season. The front cleat actually came off, and the rubber eventually ripped and tore. BUT the whole thing stayed on my boot securely until then. The first pair were a cheaper variety with the orange, replaceable small studs. The traction of those was surprisingly good, but they did not stay on my boots well and required frequent shifting to get back in place. Plus, some of the studs fell out. \n\nI bought the Korker Apex as a replacement, and it is a far superior product. Even after heavy use on uneven terrain, they stayed in place and had GREAT traction. My only complaint is that I see some of the rubber around a few of the cleats is starting to tear after one use.
