I shot, at target, approximately 3 doz. times and the string cradle broke. Contacted Tenpoint and was sent a replacement that didn't match the oem but was told it would be fine and to call back in a few weeks to see if supplier had sent new oem to them. Hunted 1 morning with it but had no shots. Few days later I shot half dozen times at target and serving on string at nock point and string latch broke and unraveled. Contacted Tenpoint, again, and was told replacement string would be sent and I would have to take to service shop and pay labor cost. Questioned about being able to use the crossbow and was told to trim loose ends and wax string along with checking nocks for burns and crossbow could be used safely because of a second serving under top one. I did these things then cocked and uncocked to check and serving unraveled again. So naturally I am not using until string is replaced. I am 71 years old and finally convinced myself to invest $1000.00 to upgrade to the Invader M1 for the overall specs and the cock/decock feature. After having had surgery on both shoulders it was too difficult to cock with a rope anymore. I had chosen Tenpoint because of their reputation and the reviews for this model but now I question the reliability of this unit. Can I trust that these issues are behind me and the only ones I encounter? It works well and is accurate. It's sighted in at 20 yards. I got the best accuracy with a 3 blade fixed. I won't use expandables. However, I needed to use the 50 yard pin for a 40 yard shot. Only drawback would be the decocking sled fits into the rear of the stock and slides up and blocks the release button. It makes it difficult to use. It came as advertised fully assembled with just the scope needing put on. I was expecting that as advertised the scope would be bore sighted and fairly close to being on. My first 3 shots were 18 inches from the bullseye with field points at 20 yards. After adjusting the scope I was able to get the crossbow shooting well to about 50 yards off a table bench. I then switched to broadheads ( wicked ridges). My shots were again 14-16 inches off bullseye at 40 yards. After a number of hours of adjusting and trying different bolts/ broadheads I could get softball sized groups at 40 yards with broadheads. Beyond 40 yards the accuracy was just plain terrible with broadheads. The other disappointment is in the band retraction on the slide. You press the button and sometimes the retraction releases and works fine both out and in and sometimes it doesn’t engage and you end up manually cranking in out and back.
