I have used my Beast for bass fishing as a warm-up for the Canadian fishing trip I just returned from. The Beast was my go to reel for all my casting for Northern and Muskie. She was phenomenal is her versatility of casting both light lures and big heavy lures. And she was very smooth and reliable retrieving the high drag lures like a Mepps Magnum. The big fish were on this trip (relative) and the Beast caught several bigger fish, including 9, 12, 14, 16 pound Northerns and Muskies in addition to many smaller fish. I was very impressed by the smoothness of her drag when the 14 pound Northern went on her run and the 16-pound Muskie went on several. Full disclosure, I like 20-pound mono and set the drag on the lighter side, but from my hard hook sets to playing the fish and letting them run, the Beast was flawless. She lives up to my ABU expectations and my older Toros 60s are still in action. Highly recommend.
