As soon as I got it home, I installed it into my Optima V2. Right off the bat, the poor design was evident. I had to use the included wrench with a lot of torque to lock the breach plug in tight enough to close the break action. Being able to finger tighten the breach plug, like I can with my Blackhorn 209 breach plug, was not going to be possible with this one. The new cap that holds the firing pin in place has been redesigned to require a jeweler's flat head screwdriver, which I luckily had. I still had to wrestle that in with all the torque I could muster to get the hammer to function properly. And the press supplied to install the large rifle primers is terrible. You can use your hands to press it in most of the way, but to get it completely seated, you will need to use a hammer. If you use a hammer, you have about a 3 in 10 chances of popping the primer, sending the insert flying. I've already lost 2 inserts somewhere in my garage because of this. \n\nSo what about the accuracy? I tried a number of powder/projectile combinations that work well with my Blackhorn 209 breach plug and got approximately the same results as with a good 209 primer. The Kit comes with two parts, the breech plug itself and the Variflame priming and punch tool set. The breech plug (also known as the Quick Release Breech Plug or QRBP) can easily be fitted with a QRBP fitting tool that comes with the QRBP as well as simple step by step instructions. Once the QRBP is properly installed no tools are required for installing or removing QRBP. The second portion of the kit, the CVA Variflame Priming and Punch Tool set, assists the user with setting a large rifle primer into the Variflame Adapter and more easily removing the primer once it is used.
