Larger than anticipated learning curve. Limited primer capacity.","text":"I've been using the Lee hand priming tools for many years. I selected this tool because I was intrigued by the universal shellholder aspect as opposed to the dedicated shellholders required for other systems. Overall the quality seems decent, with a few little niggles. Setting the shell holder jaws to accommodate case to case variation in mixed 556 brass was more difficult than I anticipated. I suspect higher quality brass would resolve this, but note that the case head is supported only at 3 points rather than around 1/2 of the diameter as on dedicated sytems. Once fine tuned it seems to work okay. Changing between cartridges is a little more difficult than anticipated. I found the large primer module to operate smoothly and provide good feel when priming. The small primer module however had a gritty feel. I expected to find rough machining marks on the internal components but on disassembly found the cut end of the return spring was scraping the bore as it became wedged between the ram and the bore. Closing the end of the spring a bit resolved the issue completely. I am also disappointed in the primer magazine capacity. I primed roughly 400 pieces of .308 in a little over an hour. For those wondering, this comes with a primer flip tray and two primer tubes. Tray works well and it fills the tubes easy. Like how Gavin from UR said, you can really feel the primers being seated which gives you lots of good feedback. It doesn't over-seat or anything of the sort. The only complaint I have is that if you have mixed headstamp brass, you may need to adjust the jaws for different rim thicknesses. Other than that, absolute 10/10 I didn’t find any. The plastic primer tray works perfectly. Flips primers instantly. Loading the primer magazine is effortless. a gentle wiggle and they will roll right in. about 40 at a time. i use the primer tool loose on the bench. i don’t bother with the paperclip to hold the primers back while inserting the primer magazine. instead, I turn the whole priming tool upside down, Insert the loaded primer magazine and then turn the tool right side up on the bench. Adjusting shell holders is the same as doing it on the coax press. A few minutes spent in trial and error to adjust the shell holders, results in very consistent priming depth and on the coax press, near zero run out. Five stars for both. There are other primer seaters on the market, but none quite like our exclusive Forster Co-Ax Primer Seater. Unlike other seaters, ours is designed so the operator can eliminate all slop when working with a specific cartridge. That translates into perfect seating, reliable ignition and reduced misfires. No additional shell holders are required. The E-Z-Just jaws close to securely grip most modern rifle and pistol cases with a rim thickness of .045″ to .072″. Large and small primer tubes have an open slot and primers stack sideways for added safety.
