I've heard plenty of negative comments over the past few years as I think Hornady struggled to meet demand with some of their new cartridges while they also dealt with a fire at their Nebraska facility. Although the ammunition has not delivered the speeds listed on the box it has been very consistent for me producing sub MOA groups, performing at long distances, and even taking down big game. \n\nI know the ELD-X was created for hunting but in 2024 I was able to take a large black bear in Alberta and a mature elk in Colorado. Both animals died within about 20 yards of where they were hit. I was super resistant to trying match ammunition like this on a hunt but I had a few buddies that swore by it and told me just to give it a try. \n\nI have used this now in 6.5CM, 6.5PRC, and 7PRC and have shot clover leaf groups with rounds touching as well as 5-6\" groups just past a 1000 yards.
