The original Danner Jag debuted in the '80s as a lightweight alternative to our classic, heavy-duty hiking boots. After a few years on the trail supporting external frame backpacks and complementing denim cut-offs, the Jag was retired. Now 30 years later, we've re-introduced the Jag as a more versatile version of its former self. It's comfortable both on the trail and around town, and incorporates durable, lightweight materials, a cushioning EVA midsole, and a new waffle outsole that adapts to a wide variety of terrain. We're proud to re-introduce this Danner original.

Durable, Comfortable and Stylish.
While stylish, the yellow color chosen for the mesh has a greenish jaundiced undertone that isn't my favorite. As far as comfort, the boots are definitely very light (so light, in fact, it makes one question their quality—see other reviews of them failing). Despite being light, they aren't actually very comfortable, large hastily sewn seams protrude on the inside of boot putting painful pressure on the ankle, and the midsoles don't provide much support. Danner's in-house "breathable" waterproof membrane also falls short—even in 60ºF weather my feet were often hot. The boot doesn't breath at all, all moisture is trapped inside the shoe creating a boggy and unpleasant experience. Overall, the boots are wearable, and they do deliver on the multi-use front, at least for now. So far, they've preformed well on some short hikes and boulder hopping, and despite the off-color, look nice-enough in town.
All said, I wouldn't recommend these boots.
