I've had these just a short time, but have hiked 20 miles in them. I was looking for increased support due to a neuroma that makes extended hikes very uncomfortable. The support system in these shoes makes all of the difference. Well done Hoka.
Bought these at my foot doctors recommendation due to my very high arches causing pain in the front of my feet. They definitely did the trick, my only complaint is the lacing system is hard to use, very tight
I would consider buying again if it undergoes a design chang
Used for walking during outdoor activities. The alignment of the upper with the base forces uncomfortable ankle over pronation. This results in most weight bearing on the medial side of the sole. I have mitigated this a little by shifting the removable sole medically as much as possible.
Im a school resource officer and I walk 20k+ steps a day on concrete floors, and I have to direct traffic. Gore tex has worked great and kept my feet dry but still able to breath, shoes have helped with the plantar fasciitis but not very good for those with arthritis in the ankles.
I would suggest the shoes for those with no ankle issues and a normal to narrow foot. Wide size fits like a normal size, still has a narrow toe box.
My original HOKA Shoes were the Bondi 6 with the all leather uppers in size 10.5 Extra Wide Plush that were discontinued. I have to have an all leather upper for work so the only option was the shoes I bought. They are okay but definitely not as comfortable as the Bondi 6. I do not want a mid or high rise.
I use these shoes for work, I'm a nurse. Always on my feet and if I don't wear the right shoe I can feel it in my knees and back. Fortunately, these shoes alleviate that pain. Love the grip it provides when entering patient rooms. Sometimes it's not so clean and I need grip!
I'm on my feet all day long and this shoe helps with foot, knee, and back pain. Ran 1 size bigger than I usually wear but that actually opened up more selection for me which was nice since I have a big foot.
Aside from these not fitting well and causing foot pain (which could very well be peculiar to me) father felt like they had inadequate cushioning. I think I'm just conditioned to the Bondi or the Clifton, which I love. I will stick to them in the future.
I won't buy this, but I'd like to try a different one.
I can see how it could be a really good shoe, except the top inner edges rub on my ankles and make them terribly raw, so they just won't work for me at all - I probably just need to try a different shoe where the top edges don't come up as high.
Support on foot is great for my plantar fasciitis. Tried Hoka responsive shoes had to return but ATR Challenger balanced support shoes all work for my plantar fasciitis. I can walk again. Have not tried any plush shoes so do not have opinions on that support level.
This shoe delivers on its promise and is comfortable but color is boring and not up to par with tbe many color choices of the other Hoka offerings. Why don't you make those available in wide?? We wide foot people like up to date color patterns too!!
Nice shoe for walking on flat surfaces but useless on trails or hilly, uneven terrain. I thought with the Goretex it could be used on trails but that was hopeful thinking. They are light and will be great around town in rainy weather or winter walks on N. California beaches.
