The XKG Wind-Defender Anorak is an uncompromising soft shell hybrid outer layer made with a unique, innovative fabric. The woven stretch polyester face fabric is bonded with a pile fleece backing to create a highly wind resistant and moisture-wicking thermal jacket.
I’m currently sitting in a tree and it’s 35 degrees in northern MN. First off, I love how it zippers up the sides so it accommodates the bridge for my saddle and still long enough to cover my backside fairly well and secondly zero wind gets threw this jacket. Not my first Kings piece but by far my favorite for hanging in a tree.
Couldn’t wait to try them, I grabbed the bibs too! They fit perfectly and we’re comfortable. I hunt in Michigan and the late season hunts can be downright cold. The XKG Wind Defender did its job, I was warm and had flexibility to move freely to use my bow. I would recommend the set to everyone.
Very impressed with the Wind Defender jacket comfort. It does not give you a bulky feel of heavy garment but keeps you warm even in below freezing temps with wind conditions. Front chest pockets are a must to have along with the lower pocket. Was able to use in mild weather and 20 degrees cold windy days, performed great without a lot of layers underneath. Would recommend this product.
I’ve used the Wind Defender Anorak with the Wind Defender bibs in weather ranging from 40degrees to 20 degrees and 35mph winds. The wind and cold do not cut through this gear! The side zippers also let you vent when it warms up after a chilly morning. The lining is super soft and warm. It let me stay on stand longer and helped fill my buck tags during archery season. The Anorak seemed to run small for me. I normally wear a XL, had to return and get the XXL. Glad I bought this gear!
The XKG wind defender Camo showed up and it looked great. I put it on and it fits real good. I am 5'10" and 180# I got XL and large would have been small if I layered. It is warm, I wore it in a tree with a base layer and jeans it was 32 degrees and no wind. I got hot! I had to unzip the side jacket vents to stay in the tree. This is well worth the money, great quality, pockets well thought out, and zippers that work. Most importantly it is quiet as well as warm. camo pattern was very nicely done. I am happy!
I went back and forth trying to decide between Kings and one the the other major companies for a good cold weather system. And I made the right decision. Price wise I saved a ton going with Kings and just this week I was sitting for the morning here in northern Wisconsin in 15 degrees with the Xkg Anorak over the Covert hoodie with the ridge pant and Wind defender bibs. I stayed warm all morning. This is a great system. I went with Large for all the pieces and my only regret is I wish I’d have done the XL Jacket as movement gets a little harder with layers on. You won’t be disappointed with the XKG line.
Jacket is incredible. Without a doubt the best bow hunting and warmest functional jacket I have ever owned. Treestand tether port in the back, dead silent, windproof somehow (most windproof jackets are noisy), kangaroo hand pocket (like Sitkas fanatic jacket), 2 chest pockets with internal small pockets in there, and super warm thick fleece throughout the whole jacket. Not bulky at all I am wearing the medium in both.
I ordered this and the pants as soon as they hit the website. I had read about this in The sites blog and instantly couldn’t wait. I have purchased several items from Kings camo in the past and have loved it all how ever, I felt like they didn’t have any clothing options well suited for those who hunt from a treestand in cold winter temps. Well here it is. As soon as it arrived i tried it on and feel in love. This coat and the pants are the warmest things I have ever put on while at the same time having amazing mobility. “I don’t feel like a marshmallow” like i have in the past with regular cold weather clothing. I highly recommend this to anyone who hunts from a tree stand in fridge cold temps and I can not wait to put it to use this late November here in South Dakota. As far as fit goes, I am 5’11” and 175lbs I order a large in both the jacket and pants. The jacket fits perfectly and the pants are big around the waste but the suspenders are super comfortable and hold the pants up great. Every thing fits excellent as far as arm length and pant length.
