I gave these a standing 5 stars, but hold on & let me explain why. I have yet to wear them, cause bow season opens October 1st. The way I see it is as the season goes on, the stars with either stay at 5 or begin to decrease. As of now I 've tried them on and "No BS had to do a review as far as the comfort goes. I've been hunting the last 5 years in LaCrosse hunting boots and these are way more comfortable than the LaCrosse. I had always seen other guys wearing them and they caught my eye on more than 1 occasion. So I pulled the trigger and ordered myself a pair. Also the price point wasn't to shabby..
First pair of Muck Boots I have bough and I bought for the upcoming duck hunting season. Very warm and fit true to size, I purchased a men's size 8 and it fits me great as a women's 9, with room for wearing wool socks I will be using these in winter months as well. Love that they are waterproof and adjustable in the back too!
Great overall boot, exactly what you would expect from Muck. Only thing I found is the buckle in the back doesn't really work, comes undone often and makes a little noise. I also have smaller calves so with it tightened all the way down it doesn't really matter. Overall I would purchase again!
The Muckmaster XF is a warm and comfortable boot. The fit is spot on but the expandable back on the top of the boot needs a better buckle. Generally speaking, this type of one piece buckle is difficult to keep closed because you must have the strap perfectly in line with the buckle. This is difficult to do when you are bent over and cannot see the mechanism, especially while wearing heavy winter clothes. Also, when pulled snug, the strap extends well beyond the ability of the clip to hold it in place.
I wear an 8 1/2W in women's shoes. Thanks to the other reviews I was able to determine these would fit comfortably around my 21" calves. I ordered a men's size 7 thinking they would fit similarly to a women's size 9. They did not. They were actually equivalent to about a women's size 8W. This meant that they were a little too short on me, and not enough room to wear with my winter socks. To return, I just put the boots back in the box, resealed the bag with tape and affixed the label that came in the package over the old one. I ordered a size 9 in men's hoping there will be a little more wiggle room for me. (They don't do returns in exchange for a new size, you simply return and order yourself a new item.) I will try to give a review once the size 9 arrive. These will be great boots once I get the right size!
I would give this product 3-4 stars, This is the 4th pair of Muck Boots that I have purchased and up until this pair have always went with the chore style. I use them from hunting, ice fishing, to farm chores. Biggest complaint is i am from Minnesota and if the temp gets much below 20 they become very very stiff and difficult to walk in, they are stiff to begin with but increase with lower temps. With the negative comes the positive in that with the increase rubber height I think they will last longer than the traditional ones. Just something to consider if looking at this style.
I had a pair of chore boots that just wore out after 5 years LOL. I was so pleased with the chore boot I definitely was going to go with a Muck boot I seen the Muckmaster XF & thought a boot a little taller would be nice. I'm really happy with the decision to upgrade to the XF. Scheels had the best price & delivered before they were do here. Around cattle most of the day, feet are dry & cozy warm. Sure you'll like them too.
I purchased these for my husband for Christmas. He needed them for cattle chores and working outside. He said he loves them and really likes the feature on the back calf that gives him that extra room and flex. He asked for another pair just like them for next Christmas.
I also brought them back and you did not have another pair the same size so you knocked off a little more on the price. I had to take a die grinder and smooth out some rubber that had leak into the boot seam right above the ankle. Store service was great!
