Features: The updated KÜHL RENEGADE CARGO CONVERTIBLE PANT opposes conventional thought to deliver superior performance, comfort and style. Cut from innovative DURALUX, the durable softshell fabric feels like cotton to the touch. Stronger, more breathable, and boasting superior anti-abrasion and quick dry properties, DURALUX with DWR outperforms standard nylon and provides UPF 50 sun protection. The patented, innovative STEALTH zip-off system eliminates the fabric flap while keeping the zipper running smoothly and efficiently. The gusseted crotch and full fit allow freedom of movement, while the waistband is slightly peached for increased wicking performance, faster drying time and unmatched comfort.
Mesh pockets provide ventilation, and compartment pockets inside the large cargo pockets keep valuables secure and organized. Easy care, wash and wear make the RENEGADE CARGO CONVERTIBLE PANT your go-to choice.
got two convertible pants. 36" waste, 32 " inseam. Gave one pair to my friend who is a 34, fit perfect. Kept the other. Was a touch small, but would do. Then they got smaller in the wash. Another Benjamin wasted.
Just tried them out at Rocky Mountain National Park under all conditions - forest, alpine, hot sun, cold rain, high wind. Awesome performance and versatility with great features to carry essentials securely.
Loved the fit guys. I have purchased many Kühl products over the years and love them all, I bought a hoodie about 5 years ago and wish they were still available. Never the less, the cap and pants I ordered are awesome. More to order.
Bought the Renegade shorts and figured these pants would be great. I was disappointed. I'm 6'3", 225 and the zippers on the legs were just not cut/designed right. I usually wear a 34×36 or a 35×36. I ordered the 35×34 thinking I was taking a risk on length. In the end, I just felt there was no room in the thighs. I wish I could say I'm like Arnold, but I'm sure the fit is not because of my build. I hope for a redesign since the Renegade shorts are my favorite shorts. The material and my love for the shorts is why I can't give 1 star, but also can't go above 2 since I wasn't able to shirt down in these.
The Liberator in my size was no longer available in Canada, so I tried the Renegade Convertible. But the lack of cotton in the blend really made it feel uncomfortable...especially in hot weather. And the lack of shrinkage was a problem, also.
Definitely comfortable, lightweight, and quick-drying. I wear these convertibles for work, everyday outdoor projects, and for travel. At the end of the day, I zip the legs off quickly, and wear as shorts. Lots of pockets for storing wallet, keys, phone, multitool/knife, etc. Each cargo pocket has an interior pocket. The left interior pocket has a zipper, which is handy for securing a wallet/passport. I only have two minor quibbles. 1) I wish the interior cargo pockets sat lower and to one side, versus being high and in the middle. With a large smartphone, the exterior cargo pocket flap may not snap closed. If the interior pocket was to one side of the cargo pocket, you could store a wallet there, and large cellphone next to it, with both laying flat against your thigh, instead of currently on top of one another. 2) I would also suggest adding a smaller, exterior pocket to either side for quick access to a multitool/knife/keys. Again, just a couple of minor complaints/suggestions, as I like to carry a lot of stuff in cargo pockets. Otherwise, great pair of convertible pants/shorts worth every penny.
The zipper to remove the legs is a smaller circumference than the rest of the pant leg. It cuts into my leg and makes these pants unwearable. I was going on a backpacking trip and didn’t have time to return them. I should have left them behind because they were unwearable anyway. I’ll never wear these pants again.
Obviously with Kuhl, the quality is there. These are great pants that I wanted to keep but I had to return them. The sizes run big. I am kind of a small guy so these were just too long and baggy. The waist was just about right though. I am a 28 waist so its always hard to find pants that fit me right.
I have an older renegade and the material is MUCH stretchier! The zippers for the shorts are constricting. I won’t be wearing these for Hiking or fishing as the fit chokes my thighs and glutes: constricting and annoying.
She loves Kulh pants, and this pair is similar to her favorite pair and she’s very happy with them. My husband is the recipient of the last pair that she got and the legs were too narrow at the bottom and he loves them.
The Renegade Cargo Convertible pants are great. They have a good feel, yet wear like iron. My only gripe is that pants in my length (28”) are only rarely available. I stand 5’7”, which seems not to be part of the Kuhl universe.
I work in the mountains. It’s not unusual for the temperatures to rise from the 40’s to the upper 70’s. These are perfect for the morning chill, then simply remove the legs and you’re ready for the afternoon. Very durable as well. Also great for camping and hiking!
Stitching Needs to be the Same Color as the Pants (*Like the others)
I absolutely love your Renegade Cargo Convertible Pants, the fit, the cut and how the fabric feels against my skin. The only problem that I have with them is the color of the stitching that you used on the "koal" and "pewter" colored versions. The lighter contrasting stitching on the "koal" and "pewter" colored versions make them look ugly, so much so that I had to return them even though I love everything else about them. There is no need to use a lighter colored stitching on those pairs, simply do what you did with the other 2 colors = buckskin khaki & khaki and use a similar colored fabric on the stitching. You should do exactly what you did wit
I love these pants. They have some stretch which is great for hiking and have a great fit. I also really like the two snap position on the bottom of the pants. The second snap keeps you from walking on the pants when just hanging out casually and not wearing shoes. The Silencer Pants and nice to but don’t buy the Liberator Pants (they don’t fit well and have no stretch).
I love these as my every day/hiking pants. Comfortable and love all the pockets and security. Also love the convertible feature. Wish they came in a 29" inseam. My inseam is right in between 28 and 30. I order a 30, but that is just a tad long.
I recently purchased a pair of RENEGADE™ CARGO CONVERTIBLE Pants. I feel in love with them the first time I wore them. Since then I now have 3 other pairs of kuhl Pants, a Pair of Shorts and the Raid Belt. These are the most comfortable, stylish and durable articles of clothing I have ever owned. They are also very versatile. My only complaint is that I wish I would have found Kuhl Brand Clothing sooner. If you are not hesitate on buying them due to the price or quality, don’t be as you won’t be disappointed. Finally I found clothing that is well worth the price. From this point moving forward I will be a customer for life!
Love these! Water resistant and quick transition from pant to shorts. Plenty of useful pockets. The velcro on the back pockets are plus for when traveling and trying to eliminate pick-pocketing. These just need a lot more color varieties and maybe some in Klassik or Tapered fit.
