The very first time I tried them, I went for a 30-minute walk to test them out. After just 15 minutes, I got blisters on my right heel. I thought maybe I hadn’t tied the laces correctly, so I stopped to adjust them, but it made no difference. By the time I got home, I had blisters on both heels, and the discomfort continued even after. These have been the best shoes to train with in the PNW. I spontaneously went running with them and was presently surprised. The fit and cushion was better than the Xodus 1 (the collar of the latter was too high and pressed on my ankle bones). These feel cushy but firm, and snug when locked down without annoying pressure points. And the construction feels better than my previous Xodus shoe. Only time will tell if the tread will hold up - that was the weakest link in the Xodus shoe, which only lasted about 6 months of similar use (city walking, occasional running). I bought a size 10.5 M and it feels great, decent width, similar to my past Ride 15 shoe. Hoping for durability up to a year. I might start using these as my everyday “walk-around” shoe because they are good on hard surfaces too. They give more side-to-side support, which is awesome because regular street running shoes are an ankle sprain waiting to happen if you landing halfway on the edge of the sidewalk. I appreciate that puddles of water won’t cause your socks to get wet. Not sure if it’s evident from the picture but one Saucony logo is brighter than the other. Apparently one got more ink than the other. While this is not a huge deal, it is a frustrating looking down at them side by side when on. The rating is more about that than anything else. Also, the experience with the Saucony packaging method is not great. They only ship in bags that cover the actual shoebox, so the shoebox takes all the shipping abuse. Not a good experience if you want to give them as a gift. I ordered a pair of shoes for my wife for Christmas, hopefully the box doesn’t come beat-up like this one.
