If you're not convinced, go watch TFB TV YouTube video on the maverick 88 burndown. They fire 500+ rounds as fast as they can, in a variety of loads. Buckshot, hi brass game, slugs. 3 inch shells 2.75 in shells. Zero stoppages or hiccups. The guns just runs. The action gets smoother in time it just has to break in. I sped this up by taking a wire wheel to the bolt and some of the other internals and polishing the bore. Just be careful polishing the receiver if you need to cause it's much softer aluminum. Just cycle the action and if it's rough, closely inspect where it's binding and carefully give that spot a little TLC. Also, this thing has significant recoil with stout loads. I'm 5'10 and the factory stock is too long on the length of pull to square up and place the stock correctly onto the edge of your pec. Shortening it and putting a limbsaver on helps a ton. I cut the stock down by 1.25 inches, then put a size small limbsaver on. The stock is hollow so you need to fashion a thin steel plate to go on the end the fits inside the limbsaver. Use the stock to trace one out. This mod made a night and day difference in recoil. You want the gun to recoil straight back into you and not angled into your shoulder because that tears you up and bruises.
