Product Description

Oval carabiners are a real technological challenge. Because of its shape the load is shared equally between the spine and gate sides of the carabiner which typically results in lower strength ratings. However with the exclusive ISO Cold Forging process Ocean Pacific is able to compensate by shifting material and putting aluminum where it needs to be to reinforce the frame. Compare for yourself and you'll see that it is one of the strongest oval carabiners on the market. At 22kN it's 4kN higher than other ovals which means that this oval is an oval you can rely on for everyday all-around use.

  • Gate opening mm/inch: 15/.591
  • Major-axis strength: 22kN
  • Gate open strength: 6kN
  • Minor-axis strength: 8kN
  • Weight grams/ounces: 65/2.3
  • Length mm/inch: 107.7/4.24
  • Width mm/inch: 57.7/2.27

My EDC and mcguyver carabiner!
Still fully operational since 2009 and 3 tours. 2017 now and I got out after 11 years and now I'm a young disabled man that has a body of a 80year old. I have used this omega 22 for towing vehicles, camping hammock, holding heavy equipment/items, a swing, tie down guardrail material, practicing rope knots, key ring and so many endless uses. This omega 22 combined with 550cord reminds me of mcguyver and his duct tape.

Heavy duty carabiner works
Not too technical a use, just want to know, 100% that our kayak tie down straps were secure in connecting to car and kayak. These are bullet proof. No kayak flopping around the road. And they are available for many camp uses.

Proudly made in America
Extra strong thanks to the aircraft-grade aluminum and the special cross-section of the frame. The symmetry of the Oval shape works great with pulleys.

pretty standard biner...I just found the Petzl SPirit key-lock biner, which doesnt have the notch that snags on everything like this style does. It is SO much better for clipping your water bottle or throw rope in....For paddling, I think the key lock is the way to go. NRS needs to carry these...
