Ordered online and picked-up in store. Still had to go thru a background check before releasing it to me. Note, the background check seemed like a full one, even with a CCW permit...oh well, better safe than sorry, I guess. The guys at the gun counter were really friendly and knowledgeable. The gun itself was new in the box and came with one 10-round mag. I paid $349.99 for it, which is about $20-40 more than from Gallery of Guns/Gun Genie, but this model seemed to be out of stock in the East Valley. While at the range, I put 100 hounds of Aguila 38 grain hollow points and it struggled feeding the next round in the chamber (2-3 rounds out of 10 would jam). However, CCI 40 grain non-hollow points jammed a lot less (maybe 1-2 out of 10 would jam). I also had a handful of rounds that did not fire as the pin is a bit shallow, but when I ran them thru a second time, they fired ok...that's rimfire for you. My only complaint is that the iron sights are a bit low and you can't change them out. Would be nice if they were at least fiber or had some color to them. All in all, it's very discreet little handgun, about the same size and feel as my LCP Max .380, except the LCP II has a thumb safety and the LCP Max doesn't. Like all 22s, that is depended on having ammo it likes, but luckily, the LCP II in 22 LR likes a wide variety of ammo, in my experience. The only ammos so far I've found it does not like are the ones I'd consider as being absolutely rifle rounds- things like Winchester Varmint HE. No matter the brand of ammo...CCI, Federal, Ely, Remington, etc the gun always has repetive failure to feed, failure to eject, and light primer strikes. This is with over 500+ rounds fired. Save yourself the hassle and go with a different 22lr or get the LCP in 380. Fit and finish are perfect. Very easy to manipulate the light rack slide. Safety is redundant and a little tight, a push-pull lever instead of flip type lever as on nearly all handguns with a manual safety. I am sure it will shoot reliably after a breaking in period. I will shrug off any failures during the first few hundred rounds. After that? Not so much.
