I am a new shooter, and tried several semi-automatics at the range. I decided on the Shield Plus for its performance, small size for carry, and accuracy. I just came back from the range having fired Fiocchi FMJ 115 grain and JHP 124 grain, and Sig 124 grain JHP. All fed and fired perfectly. The red dot is basic - one dot style. However, it is easy to adjust and worked well. It is auto on and off and self adjusting for light conditions. Also, the description says it comes with two magazines. Had one small malfunction on my second range day where the trigger wasn’t catching to fire, but I believe this was just from not being worn in and other than that it has been totally reliable. Great value with the red dot and two extra extended mags that would normally be $40 each. Love that it’s got a manual safety and trigger safety and also the red dot really improves my accuracy as a new shooter.
