I used to buy the cheap stuff at the box stores, but since I'm 65, I thought I would go with Stihl products so I might have something that would last. Both products are good, but the batteries are terrible. Stihl says these products should last 25 minutes on a single charge, but both of my batteries are dead after 10 minutes. I have an AK10 and a AK30 battery and a charger for each. My expectations were high, but the end results are less than desirable. The blower is great with a full battery, but the trimmer spool head is terrible as well. The line always breaks off\nor sticks to itself and either way it freezes up and will not feed. I have to take it apart and free up the line. This has caused me to let this hang on the garage wall unused. It is a very poor design and for the price is worthless. Never never again. It's lightweight (about 6.5 pounds with the battery), easy to operate, and the shaft extends to add an extra element of comfort for taller users. 50 minutes of run time with an AK 20 insures operators can get the job done around the house without having to rush. This trimmer weight was almost half the weight of my previous trimmer. With the adjustable shaft length and weight made the fit perfect for what I needed. After using it over several weeks, I can say without remorse that it is a GREAT product! Trims my approximately 1/4 acre area without having to swap out the batteries.
