Good quality boot, but NOT good in wet surfaces!!!
I saved $ and read several reviews on these boots over the last 6-7 months. I finally caved and purchased a pair about a month ago. I read that they are extremely hard to break in, but once you do, they will be your favorite boot ever. They certainly are very stiff, but with being thick leather, I know this will be a temporary burden. I have been wearing them around the house and to a few football games to try to get some miles on them for next hunting season. A few days ago, I went bird hunting. It was going to be a short walk, so I wore these boots knowing that I wasn't hiking miles upon miles in boots that aren't quite broke in. I had to cross a wooden bridge that was slightly off camber and was wet due to rain. I got my second step on the bridge and my feet slipped out from under me-like I was on ice. My son was in waders and he didn't slip at all. I was really surprised about how slippery they were! We stopped at a store on our way home to get something warm to drink as it was still rainy and cold. I slipped on the floor and nearly went to the floor again. Yes, I incurred some injuries from slipping on the bridge and am stiff and sore. The boots are phenomenal in their quality and overall comfort. I just expected them to be better in wet situations as many adds state that they are perfect for rugged and rocky terrain...but I found out the hard way--not wet rugged and rocky terrain.
