I bought these on sale thinking they’d feel like big heavy clunky awkward snow boots. It was 45° they day I bought them and I thought I’ll never get to wear these this winter. Thanks El Ninia. The Pacific Northwest has been very rainy this year, but not snowy where I live. However, to my surprise just like when you wash your car and the rain comes in waves - these arrived and we ended up with 8” of snow. They are warm, very comfortable, very PNW stylin’ and ready for spontaneous lunch dates, grocery runs, or driveway shoveling. I have a 7 1/2M foot with bunions, which can make shoes hurt after several hours of wear, I am not kidding when I say these boots feel light on your feet and on the first day I wore them for a good 10 hours solid no break-in needed. They run true to size, and cut about 3.5-4” wide. I am online now and going to buy another pair. I own them in gray and they will go with everything. I love them so much, I’m going to buy them in the saddle brown. And stylish, too! Yay!!!","text":"Finding a stylish, waterproof, warm boot that fit me! \nIt was a very frustrating and time consuming process. Thank you Sorel for making half sizes!! It seems most winter boots from the major, proven brands, run small. Including Sorel. I finally came across this boot on the Sorel website and it was available in a 10.5. Style was not my first pick. I was at a point that I didn't care what they looked like. Else where, I was not able to find a 10.5 in any Sorel boot or it was sold out. I was skeptical, after buying and mailing back five different brands, and I about gave up. \n\nOk. About the boot: This boot proved itself during our trip to Lake Louise, Banff National Park for Christmas. They are very cute. That's important, right? Joking aside, best overall, winter boot that offers more than style.\n\nI wore them while traveling and they were very comfortable walking the airport...straight out of the box! During activities, I wore a thin ski sock and my feet stayed warm and dry during dog sledding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sleigh ride, and walking/hiking and shopping in Banff. It was COLD and was snowing most of our nine day stay. I walked on packed snow, in deep snow, and on a frozen lake. The boot has excellent traction and faired ok on the ice. I have to admit, I was a little surprised that the boot did so well during the more strenuous activities, staying dry and when sitting and not moving around, the boot did well, with my toes only getting a little chilled after two hours of sitting in a dog sled at -4, in high altitude. \n\nPlus, the boots are super cute with leggings and I wore them frequently to our semi formal dinner and walking around the hotel. They are also cute and practical with flared jean bottoms. I realized I probably could have used the boots for almost everything, eliminating packing indoor shoes for the hotel activities and meals. I also like the wide boot strings! They are easy to tie and untie. The larger design also keeps the strings from bunching up with snow. They stayed flexible and didn't get stiff. I could also tie and untie while wearing some of my gloves.\n\nI recommend going up at least a half size, or a full size if you have a wider foot. I will say, I have a very narrow foot and slender calves. Like most of the boots I tried despite the brand, someone with wide feet and larger calves, may find that this boot may not work for you. But, give it a try! When I first tried them on I was a little concerned because they were a tad snug, but good in length. Due to the type of lining, I figured the boot would adjust to my foot and allow for more room as I broke them in. This is definitely the case and they were never uncomfortable! \n\nGreat boot. I have always purchased Sorel outdoor boots. Sorel's are my go-to brand.
