I have owned Traeger, and Rec Tec up to now. You can't really compare this brand to any of the other two, simply because I consider it a commercial grade over a consumer grade grill. Apples to oranges in comparison to weight, build, construction, metal thickness, etc. With that said, this one does take longer to heat, cool down, and temperature does take longer to level out, because of the metal thickness of the grill itself to heat up. But it runs quiet, super well built, 150-degree smoking, and 600 on high side. Having an open flame as an option by removing the top plate only makes it more appealing when searing steaks or charring burgers. I compare this grill's cooking to cooking with cast iron vs. steel. Double racking is a big plus, and the craftsmanship is superb for today's typical consumer products being made. The stainless steel grates, burn plate, and box are all very heavy duty, thick gauge material. No skimping at all on materials. No complaints so far, easy to put together, very heavy, but if you're looking for a high-end grill, that will outlast most people's lifespan, I would highly recommend this to any serious griller. Custom programmable heat settings as an option by the user, and dual probes with wi-fi for your phone app, finish up the nicely thought-out details of this grill. I grill year-round, so I will definitely get my money's worth long term. Scheels was great at answering all of my questions, and as always were a pleasure to do business with. If you're looking for a very high-end grill and you're a consumer looking for real quality, don't waste a minute comparing this brand to any other grill on the market in terms of cost comparison, and quality. Plus, they are made in the USA!
