Nice boot, except. . .
This is the second pair of these boots that I have owned. And I'm going to abandon this pair for the same reason I abandoned the first pair. They are very comfortable and show very little wear but after two plus years of wearing them they have developed a very annoying and loud squeak when walking on any hard surface such as a sidewalk or uncarpeted floor. I just cannot have them making that noise and I have found no way to silence them other than get rid of them. Too bad. I really like them otherwise.

Great boot shoe laces suck
I have had a 3 pairs of these boots during my time as a correctional officer in Idaho. They are overall a good boot. They are comfortable and light. However, the shoe laces SUCK. They last a month maybe 2 at the most. I have had regular hiking boots with laces that last longer. I would expect that any boot for law enforcement would have laces that last longer than a month.

Shoe lace issues
Overall boot is good, but the wear and tear on shoe laces is ridiculous. I have been wearing these for a total of 2 months and the shoe laces are already breaking because the top 3 pair of eyelets fray the crap out of the laces. Just looking at these eyelets, you can clearly see that the shape doesn't match how the shoe strings are tightened. As the laces are pulled the laces get forced down into the corners of these eyelets causing them to fray. Can't understand how designers couldn't see this was a problem.

Favorite patrol boot
I bought a pair of Danner Strikers earlier this year. I love the roomy toe box, comfort, and support of the Striker. This boot fits a bit more narrow and offers almost as much comfort and all the support of the Striker. The outsole is superior to the Striker with its low lug pattern. It’s an overall better boot that I look forward to putting on for work.

Kinetic style-soles fell apart, rubber suddenly deteriorated!
I’m retired and only wear them a few times a year when weed whacking. The leather is treated with mink oil and would say they were vary comfortable & light wt. Sorry to say I’m disappointed and will not buy Danner again.

Finally I have found a
Finally I have found a proper duty boot and thankfully no side zipper to fail or loosen up the fit. Genuine Gore-Tex lining, excellent footbed cushion for standing on pavement, standard 8" boot. Fit is right on par, I wear a 12 medium width in New Balance shoes and Danner's 12 medium width is a excellent match. Very happy with this boot. The laces are so long you can wrap them around your calf twice and still have plenty to tie. The bootlace pocket in the top of the tongue is a great feature too, makes for a clean uniform appearance. This is my first pair of Danner boots, but won't be my last.

By far my favorite footwear
By far my favorite footwear I've ever worn. I used my first pair for literally everything from work to hikes to jogging. I've worn the grip off those bad boys over years and am plenty satisfied with their longevity. So much so that the new pair I ordered were only tried on and then stored so and I can keep wearing the originals into the ground, despite having ruined their traction. Well ventilated and the fit once broken in feels so natural it hardly feels like you're wearing boots. I'll wear them until they rip or I slip. I don't think I'll buy boots from any other company in the future.

Very comfortable. Wore them around the house for an hour or two a couple of different days just to mold them to my feet before using them several hours. Probably didn't need to, but just my thing I've done for years. My past experience with these boots, probably my 4th or 5th pair now, is that the gortex wears out prematurely compared to other boots, and my feet get wet before the boot itself needs retirement. I do like the fit though, so I've stuck with it.
