I hunted in the rain for about five hours in a medium-to-mild rainfall, and to my surprise, I noticed a few wet spots on my inner layers. The front pockets definitely aren’t waterproof — I had a beanie and a few other belongings in there, and they got wet. I also experienced quite a bit of dampness on the inside, either from rain seeping through or from moisture buildup due to limited breathability. I will mention that I did inspect the interior and I found a couple places where the tape seems were coming loose. Maybe it’s the default from the factory anyway This was my first time buying a higher-quality rain jacket, but unfortunately, I’m going to have to give it a three-star rating sorry I have to mention. It’s absolutely waterproof, quiet, and has plenty of room for layering. I’m 6'1\" and 185 lbs, and I can comfortably wear both my Boulder softshell and a puffy underneath without feeling restricted.\r\n\r\nUnfortunately, the customer service and shipping experience were disappointing. I placed my order at the beginning of September, but it took over 10 days just to be packed and shipped. It then spent nearly 3 weeks in transit, arriving more than a month after I placed the order. To make matters worse, despite my order confirmation indicating that it qualified for free international shipping, the package arrived “Charge on Delivery”, and I was forced to pay additional shipping fees.\r\n\r\nOver the course of that month, I reached out to customer service twice. I received one response—over 10 days after my first inquiry—and never received any reply to the second.\r\n\r\nIn short: the jacket itself is excellent and meets my expectations, but the order fulfillment and customer support process left a lot to be desired. Fits well. The hood is designed well so all the water from the shower flowed down and away from my body. I can tell it is a more breathable fabric than my other rain gear (more like a poncho-type). The Mountain Shadow camo will be great for hunting out west or in Wisconsin. The only downside is that after 5 minutes in the shower, I had a wet spot near my belly button. That was the only spot. I call that a win considering my previous rain gear (used off of eBay) failed me in Colorado in 2024, ruining the hunt. I am chalking this up as an issue with the shower test rather than the jacket as I fully expect the seams and zipper flaps to hold up under normal, low pressure, and sustained rain. As long as the rain isn't blowing sideways, my core and layers underneath should stay dry. The large waterproof pockets hold almost anything you would need to put in them. Have worn it a couple dozen times in downpour rain and always dry. Only sorta annoying part I've experienced is the hood tends to slide back off my head. But honestly just adjusting it back into position is not hard or a pain. When I purchased the jacket I had never heard of kings camo so I took a shot bc the price was fantastic. If I could go back and get a 2nd knowing what I do now I would. I got mine at a big box store for around fifty bucks. Should of gotten a 2nd even tho after 1.5 yrs nothing is wrong with this one. It is just a great coat and wouldn't hurt to have a back up. I could of went with a large bc it fit me perfectly but went with XL so I could always layer under it. From early spring when plants are still gray and greening to full green in summer along with fall when lighter colors are out. I've worn it several times in downpours and it kept me dry. It's not overly heavy but being windproof it really keeps body heat in. The pockets are plenty large enough and overall I'm glad I got it. I was lucky and got it at Costco of all places for about half the price as the website.
