I love the jacket but had bought same jacket at Rei at thanksgiving and trim at wrist came undone. Rei did not have replacement, so they refunded and we ordered from you. We are hoping the wrist trim remains intact because I love jacket! Thanks
First let me start by saying that I LOVE Kuhn products and have many. This jacket is awesome I’m so many ways. The design looks great, just the right amount of insulation in all the right places, and the longer length in the back that distinguishes Kuhl. The bottom hem adjustment is on both sides and the TuffleX covering for the shoulders is awesome. My only complaint is the underarm is noticeably tight and the sleeves a little short. One more inch in both would have perfect. I do like the vented underarm. Overall a great jacket but could have been incredible.
I went in to buy the Spyfire vest, and walked out with the jacket. Once I tried it on I was sold. I have Patagonia and Arc'teryx and something about this jacket is just way cooler IMO. Crazy comfortable and light weight, while retaining warmth. I am 100% getting the vest now too. Kuhl is changing the game with great options. I am 6' 2" 190, and XL fits great.
Overall, an excellent jacket. Weight to warmth ratio is exceptional. The quality of the materials is outstanding and I’m very pleased with the purchase. In fact it is the third purchase of the same item, in different colors. I did find that it runs slight smaller than other brands such as TNF and Patagonia where I generally wear a medium, however, a large with this item. I’m 6’0” and 165 lbs.
This jacket is beyond my expectations. Way beyond! So light weight and we'll stitched. Totally comfortable and warm skiing in high wind and 14 degree weather. No sweat buildup under so always comfortable.
My husband loves this jacket so much that after his first one was stolen, I immediately replaced it with a new one. I’ve never seen him so upset about losing a piece of clothing. This jacket is perfection.
Great look and warm, but; First off, I have 50plus pieces of Kuhl clothing. Long sleeve short sleeve shirts, sweaters, 8 vests, 30 pairs of paints in multiple colors, hats, belts . I love the products and will continue to purchase other Kuhl products.
But, I bought the jacket and after three wears (mild use, wore it to/and from work) the pointy end of the goose feather insulation started poking up. They poke out far enough for the white part of the feathers to be extremely noticeable. I tried taking one out to get ride of it but parts of the feather snag in whole the feather created. Not what I was expecting. I have warn Arc’teryx/Mountain hardware jackets for years and not had this happen. Won’t buy another one of there jackets with this type of filling.
A lot of jackets these days seem to fall into two camps. They’re either light and can only handle temps down to 20, or they’re made for 20 below. The Spyfire is lightweight, but big on warmth. The down is fantastic! From the style side, you can’t beat it. No run of the mill checkerboard pattern, which I am thankful.
I always wanted to buy the spyfire jacket. I finally bought it and I'm loving it. The jacket is stylish and very comfortable. I got positive comments from my wife and friends immediately when they saw me with the jacket on. Picking between the raven color or the carbon color was the hardest part about when I was buying this jacket. Highly recommend this jacket for the buyers that are looking for a high quality, comfortable, and stylish jacket.
I was traveling and found several racks of Kuhl clothing at an outdoor store I’d never been to. Having never heard of the brand I tried some on and ended up buying a nice pullover sweater and a jacket. Compared to the more well known brands I felt like there was no comparison in how sturdy it felt and how good it looked. This jacket is warm and the puffy jackets from other brands this light are nothing but windbreakers. You can feel your body heat reflecting off the inside of the jacket. With the performance AND compliments I’ve already experienced I’m now a loyal customer.
Live near the mountains so cold winds are most definitely common, and the Spyfire holds up! The 800 fill power gives it a slim look while remaining warm for everyday use. You can see some feathers have come out, but that's going to happen with any down jacket you wear on the regular. Another great product from Kuhl!
I am an addict. The first step is admitting it. But the Spyfire Jacket in Blackout truly curbed my cravings. Slim fit. Micro pockets designed to put warmth where needed and reduce bulk where not. And all black. Seriously Kuhl.
I bought this jacket after owning the hooded version and falling in love with it. I wanted this version so that I could cut down on a little bulk from the hood while not sacrificing warmth and comfort, as well as style. I feel that this jacket, coupled with a beanie, will keep me as warm as I will need to be while working in the Smoky Mountains, traveling in Europe, and chasing trout in Colorado. I will beat this jacket down just like me other and I know it'll hold up to the Kuhl name. Thanks guys, and gals, for making another perfect jacket.
Jacket fit is excellent. fits close in the right places, flexible and non-binding freedom of movement. warmth all the way up to my chin. sleeve length is perfect on a 5'11" ectomorphic frame. pocket placement and number are perfect for easy access and closure. down warmth is the best IMO. craftmanship (or craftswomanship) is superb. handsome, detailed. moisture repellency and durability of material will have to wait for winter quality work by Kuhl a top tier brand Carroll - Overland Race Mgmt. / Wilderness Camper
Love this jacket. It's lightweight and tailor fitted. Another feature I like is the shell. It's not as thin as some of the competitors like mountain hardware which rips easily. All around a great coat.
