I have several pairs o Oboz shoes and boots. Love them all. I really like the Satwooth Low for warm weather so I ordered the B-DRY ones for wet weather. The sizes are very different. the Dry version has substantially less internal volume compared to the non dry version. So disappointed that they can't make consistent sizes. .
This is my 3rd pair of Oboz. The first pair I bought in July 2016. I use them all around as work shoes in residential construction and hiking. They usually last 2 years which is a year longer than the other name brand shoes that I have tried, except for Danner, which makes a comparable shoe to Oboz. This latest pair, 'Sawtooth, I purchased 8/10/19 and after about 13 months I began having sharp pains in my feet. At first I was confused at the cause until I felt inside the shoe and realized that the inner sole had rolling bumps that had permanently formed in the sole/ footbed. Not smooth like normal but bumps! No wonder my feet hurt! The shoes were now junk. I have bragged on the Oboz shoe for many years now, but now I must warn anyone who buys this version 'Sawtooth' or similar that the inner sole may do what mine did. Oboz needs to stop using this design of inner sole. For me, I'm not going to invest this much money in a shoe unless I am confident that the shoe will give fair value.
I've owned keens in the past but these are my first actual hiking shoes that I've owned and hiked with they are comfortable and stable i have no regrets in getting these shoes definitely happy. If i had to say any thing negative about these shoes it would have to be that the laces keep coming loose during hiking but it might just be operator error in that i'm not tying them tight enough but other than that no complaints. Good shoe and recommend them.
I recently purchased a pair of OBOZ Sawtooth 2 and they are very comfortable, however I went out recently and got caught in a heavy shower when I got home and took off the Sawtooth 2’s I noticed my socks were soaking in the above toe area.
I have 2 pairs of North Face Hedgehog walking shoes, and have never experienced this problem before, OBOZ Sawtooth are defiantly not waterproof!
Bad news for me is wifey has bought me a pair of OBOZ Firebrand 2 for Christmas so let’s hope these are waterproof!!! I will have to wait until after 25th Dec?
Picked these up today and was amazed at how comfortable these were around my foot. The construction felt so solid and having this combination of qualities was super impressive. Tried several types of hiking shoes/boots and nothing compared to these beauties. Highly recommend
I purchased a pair of these in early March and within a month they started leaking water. I walk 3 miles daily at a city park that has mowed grass. The store did a test and said they were leaking and gave me a new pair. In just a few days they also started leaking. They will not remain dry walking through wet grass and my socks are soaked. I will not bother the store anymore and will be trying another brand. I will just wear the Oboz Sawtooth when it is dry.
Otherwise they more comfortable than any other low hiker I have ever had.
Purchased both the low and mid hiking shoes and could not be more dissatisfied. The shoes, although well crafted and sturdy, are extremely uncomfortable and heavy. Both types of shoes create pain around the balls of my feet. And let's not forget about the laces that refused to stay tied.
I am an avid outdoorsman. These are the best shoes ever. I ended up buying a second pair as soon as I tried them on. You will love them. Size is right on the money so if you like them with a little more room consider a 1/2 size bigger. I give them a 10 out of 10!!!
This is the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned! The price was a lot more than I usually spend on boots because I am a cheap ...., but I purchased the MEN'S SAWTOOTH II MID WATERPROOF anyway, and I am glad I did. I tried other brands on, but once I put these on I was sold. Did I mention how comfortable they are? I felt like my feet were well protected and I had a good bounce in my step as I hiked to a glacier on my last trip to AK. I'll be back shopping for Oboz when i replace these!
I've worn Danner's for 14 years, and Keen's for 10. Trying to find a low, waterproof, hiking shoe with support, an REI sales associate recommended this shoe. Awesome Sauce......said my feet when I tried them on. I've just completed my first hike in soggy, 20* weather and I couldn't be more pleased. No fatigue, true to fit......my feet and I recommend.
First of all, I never write reviews, especially on shoes. But I just picked up a pair of these this past week from my local shop here in Marquette MI. I am a little bit bigger guy with wider feet. I always have a hard time finding shoes that fit right, but I have finally found them! They have great support and they grip up really well. I did the black river falls hike yesterday and I was all over slippery rocks and they were amazing! If you are looking for support and comfort, buy these shoes. If the rest of there shoes feel like these, I will only be buying OBOZ from now on.
I bought these, n the regular boot version, a few months ago. I haven't had the chance to do any real hiking in either pairs, but don't foresee any problems w/that. I've been wearing the low-tops almost every day. Overall, I love them. They're sturdy, comfy, n have great soles, inside n out. As other reviewers have noted, there is one problem, though: Insufficient ventilation. OMG, these things run hot :-/ No exertion is needed to have sweaty feet. I actually developed fungal infections on both of my feet (skin), recently. It was from the excessive sweat. That's never happened, before. I wear old-school cotton crews, but will soon be changing to a wool-blend. These shoes are why. Hoping it helps. I still recommend the shoes, but PLEASE increase the ventilation, Oboz. Pretty Please?? Thank You.
I waited to write this review until after I finished a multi-day hiking trip. I have had several different brands of hiking boots/shoes but have continued to have issues with my toes being pushed together. If I didn’t address the toes using moleskin, etc. I would invariably end up with hot spots or blisters.
On a recent hike in Spain I was talking with our guide about this issue and he suggested finding boots/shoes with a wider toe box. That suggestion ultimately led me to Oboz and after my most recent hike I have to say that I am very pleased.
My Oboz Sawtooth II Low (Waterproofs) were great. They fit nicely out of the box and really required no break-in. Most importantly (to me), the wider toe box meant that I had NO issues with my toes being pushed together and no blisters or hotspots. So, these hiking shoes were EXACTLY what I was looking for!
I am now an Oboz convert and intend to buy the Oboz Mid version of the Sawtooth II soon!
