The wide calf is nice, but if you're just a big boned person, these boots fit horribly. The wide calf works well for the bigger calf, but the boot shaft reduces in diameter far too much and results in an extremely tight fit around the ankle. Since I already returned it, I’m shocked they want a review! I previously owned this boot in size 6 with the wide gusset. Since that wonderful boot was not available, I ordered this one in the same size. The boot was 1.5” longer than the prior boot. The 15” calf is not as wide as the gusset boot so I’m unable to squeeze my jeans down inside. I can hardly fit my, apparently, not so feminine calf in it! On the first wear, I developed a wound that took three weeks to heal. I’ll spare you the photos. Prior to returning the boot, I attempted to contact customer service three times via email. I’ve yet to get a response. I attempted to reach someone on the phone and spent over 4 hours on hold during the course of 3 attempts.
