At $75+ for the 24\" version, I think these should last a lot longer than that. \n\nI have a weber gas grill that's 35 years old and I'm on my 3rd grill cover. The first one came with it and lasted for 20 years. Then i bought a cheap $20 cover and it last for 2 or 3 years. Then I bought the weber brand cover, in the same price range as this one and it's been on there for 5 years and is still doing great. \n\nThe cover is made to custom fit the woodwind but all the places where the grill isn't smooth on the top, like where the hinge is for the lid or the bolt on top of the chimney, the cover has holes in it because the fabric has turned \"crunchy\" and then been torn up.\n\nI was pretty happy with the cover until last year when i noticed that the fabric wasn't holding up. I don't live in the sun belt so hot sun was not the issue, it just rot weakened. We have sowed and patched the rips but they continue to happen all over. Material used is brittle after one year sadly. The fit is really tight. I give it till next summer till it starts to tear! For $83 you figure you’d get a good quality finished fit. Originally I was happy, but after two years I started noticing small tears here and there which was surprising as I had taken good care of it. Within the last few months it has completely fallen apart and now I’m looking for a new cover. I’d expect a weather proof cover it last longer than 2-3 years. But if you do cinch it up on the sidekick side, the cover is too short to cover the bottom shelf. Add a propane tank for the sidekick and this will be tight and no doubt wear through in the corners. It does not cinch up around the hopper. They At this price point, I would expect the cover to be a custom-ish fit over their own grills and have buckles and straps instead of Velcro tag and pad which are much less durable and less reliable. The material does seem to be quality material. But not much it at all better than the generic one I have for my propane grill. To be clear, the generic one for my propane grill is not a cheap $15 cover. I spent about $40 on it. But I tried it on my camp chef smoker and it fit better.
